No, you are right. Shorinji kempo does not belong inside a ring. This is heresy. These guys, although wearing the hoi, behave like brawlers. It's the ugliest embu i have ever seen.

You saw them for 9 seconds... I dont think they did anything wrong. Free sparring outside a ring or inside is the same. Theres no flashing cameras or even a crowed, looks like they are just inside a fighting area, not really a boxing ring.

Well they came first in Shorinji Kempo European Taikai 2011 Monaco.
Search for that on youtube and youll see their Embu. So I guess their embu is better the yours. You do not always choose where you can perform an Embu.
