Where is Bagha jatin, Binoy-Badal-Dinesh, Surya Sen, Khudiram Bose in ur list of freedom fighters? The list could go on & on. Each one of them gave up their lives in far more dramatic fashion than Bhagat Singh. Yet in hindi movies, it is shown as if he & the sikhs were some sort of pioneers of Desh bhakti. How many sikh freedom fighters can u count on ur fingers? Where were they in 1857?It was the sikhs & rajputs who were used by the British to brutally suppress indigeneous revolts in India.

Why is it that I don't find mention of Bengali freedom fighters anywhere on the web or in Indian schools? Why do the Indians, especialy the north Indians know only about Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Azad? No Hindi films have ever been made about them. Bengali resistance started long before that of Punjab & was far more organized & destructive to the British rule. Only Azad moulded his fighting tactics on that of the Bengal resistance. "Never give up" & Vande mataram was their motto.

The anadpur sahib resolution was a demand of rights that was being denied to the sikhs of punjab and other parts of india. these were very simple demands such as the freedom of keeping water, electricity and the return of punjabi speaking areas to punjab as promised by nehru. i fail to understand why the indian government couldnt even give these simple rights tho?

there was a friend of my cousins avtar singh who used to be a communist in the 1980s and used to drink, he used to laugh at his brothers when they used to go on akali morchas, then after 1984 he was arrested by the congress government and tortured, turning point, became a sikh, did nitnem regularly, joined the sikh movement, was arrested tortured, both arms broken.
