  • omg my favorite Christmas song. sooooooo pretty i wish i played the flute but i play the sax. i could try playing it…

  • @TheOneAndOnlyBrookie

sax has the same fingering as the flute.. Work on it....and you would be able to play it on the flute. I played flute and sax. I know it can be done. :D Go for it.

  • it's not spanish, its french

  • you have a really good low brass :]

  • Dude we are singing this for my school choir. I love this song

  • i am also doing this our christmas concert im a trumpeter and i must say even though im only doing 2nd trumpet it is pretty hard it goes by so fast

  • actually were playing it this year it is 4/4 with 2/4 in it :)

  • bass clarinet pride!

  • Wow, amazing brass!

  • We're playing this for our Christmas concert but it sounds rather different. I play the flute but we play it faster. Is this in half time?

  • Nope its 4/4

  • wow, very good performance!

we're also playing it in our brass band and our percussionist is having very much fun with his solo ;-)

but I'm afraid we don't sound half as good xD

  • thanks for sharing this, it's a really great rendition. I played this in a band too, and it's a very fun piece to play.

  • Hey, cool - I love this rendition. Did you transcribe it for the band from the CD, or does Mannheim Steamroller provide sheet music?

And, xchibidinox, the name is not a description of the type of flutes used. It was an attempt at onomatopoeia for the sound of light drums.

  • Mannheim Steamroller provided sheet music for the concert band version (Hal Leonard published it)

  • i am doing this for my concert on friday today is wendsday i go to minersville pa

  • not wut i thot it was :/

im looking for the original one

  • Mannheim Steamroller did not write this song. It is a French carol written around 1700.

  • I would've said "band rendition of Mannheim Steamroller's rendition of the carol Pat-a-Pan" but that seems a bit much, y'know?

  • I played this in a strings ensemble and immediately fell in love with it! Unfortunately, the other members didn't...

  • We're doing this for quoir...I don't want to do it

  • we just played this song!! today was our concert!

  • lol me too...

  • we're playing this song too hah.

  • We are playing this right now for the upcoming winter concert.

  • Same here!!! Its a really hard song (for the flutes any way which is the instrument I play,) but its really starting to pay off!

  • they use pan flutes

thats where the name comes from

  • omg! we are too, but we actually just played it! It was fun.... the grade above us did really good.

  • were playin this for our winter concert!

  • we're playing this now too!

  • my school played this for our winter concert last year. but it wasn't a flute solo at the beginning; it was the entire section (14 flutes). it was quite a chore getting us all to play in tune!

  • we're playing this for our Christmas concert. I play the flute solo and right now it sounds nothing like that lol we have to take it in 4 instead of 2 cause we just started to learn it. But this band that played sounded really really good

  • What a fabulous band. I love it.

  • We played this same exact song during our Christmas concert.

  • We are, too- except we're playing this for a festival thing at Georgia State University...

  • What a great piece.

  • me and my family always play this song during Christmas :D
