Terms like "more daring and improvisational" are very subjective and seem to assume an improvement from the older styles. I don't agree with this and feel BG fiddling in general is somewhat boring, inferior to such past masters as Eck Robertson, Ed Haley, Lowe Stokes and many others. But I did enjoy watching Fiddling Arthur Smith, so thanks for posting.
