Sorry, but I hate the BD. They've had their moments to shine many times over and it's time someone else starts dominating the field. Personally, I find them far less entertaining than several corps I could mention. It's time for some new blood.

@euphmmx Playing an instrument upside down is not worthy of a win. Fifth graders can do that. I haven't liked cavies since 2006, and that wasn't their best show. As for BD's concepts...pushing mirrors around a field? Flailing a ten foot PVC pipe, running across the field as the others scatter behind you? Not to mention there's no humility. Arrogance ruins a corps' credibility. There's more entertainment and decent content in Cadets - people dancing on tables and an idiot in a bunny suit.

Look at all of the disagreement when the Blue Devils were announced a 99.05. Yes their show may have been "boring", and maybe it wasn't a fan favorite, but when it comes to the educated judgment of the judges it plan-Jane goes to the cleanest show out there - the Blue Devils. Yes their class may have been off, and maybe they act rude, but if you look at the hard core facts, BD performed their asses off. They worked really hard to make the show as close as possible to "perfect".
For the Bluecoats they're "Bloo!"-ing. The Blue Devils however... lol. Idk if I would have done it myself if I was there but BD is definately not my favorite corps.
People need to shit the hell up with the whole 'so and so should have won' 'so and so was better' I highly doubt any of you are judges for dci shows or even normal marching band for gods sake. you may see an amazing performance, but the judges see the tiny little things.

I think Cavaliers' 2009 show was limited in nature. There isn't much you can do with the concept of separation, canyons, rock climbing, etc. I agree, Mad World was a fantastically entertaining production from start to finish from every section of the corps. Very great show design, and what they changed in 2 days from quarters to finals was almost unbelievable. I hate to be this guy, but I would have really loved to see them win this year. Blue Devils were pretty amazing too though.
@reeldeelpeel I would have also enjoyed a victory for the Cavies. I saw both corps perform in Sioux Falls, SD. I naturally dislike BD shows (2003 being the exception), and the mirrors made the show feel cold and disconnected. It did create cool effect and mask mistakes though.

@elkabong1961 because alot of their staff (percussion head, and several others) moved to Santa Clara. It was a very stressful year for Phantom 2009 :(
@DeathCail i watched both of those show and i erally love both of them,the zone is very misterious and theres one part in frameworks that gives me goosebumps, the dancing part.

The corps that won, whether you think they deserved it or not, worked just as hard as any to get where they are, and if for nothing else, they deserve respect and appreciation for that. Their winning is fine with me, but they didn't deserve the second-highest score ever. It was a good show, just not THAT good. If you look at the two 99.15 shows, they completely surpass it in every way except flash. (which i guess is what judges go for now)
It really upsets me to see the Blue Devils act like that during the Awards. All the other corps are in their ranks staying still and the Blue Devils are moving around acting like they could care less. And then when Carolina Crown was announced in second place, BD's reaction was disgusting. Screaming, walking around, ect. Very classless in my opinion. I understand you just won the World Championships, but the celebrating comes AFTER the awards, not during.

one issue I would have with the "super strict ranks" etc. is that people will push people to make sure they dont "break ranks"- where BD will not make such a huge deal out of it. thats a bigger issue, I'd say
@TakerFan55 I definitely agree with you. BD should not have acted that way. It's unsightly, rude, and just plain cocky. The Crown is one of my favorite corps and was so happy for them. They didn't deserve BD's actions toward them when the score was announced. The fact that the Crown got 2nd!.....prooves that the activity is just getting stronger and stronger plus the GE of today's corps remains fresh and original for the most part.

I love the people who screamed "what?!" when Carolina Crown got the silver. They deserved the Gold hands down. In my opinion, and I'm not biased (Phantom is my fav) Blue devils didn't deserve the gold AT ALL.

God, i remember this night. I was so pissed. Crown should have taken 1st. BD fans, you can think all you want, but in all reality, BD was garbage in finals. If you don't believe me, watch the show closely. The drum break was crap. It's all politics. There is no way in hell that BD won by almost 2 full points and took first in drums with a 19.98 (i think). Haha, i noticed that when they announced crown as 2nd, everybody started leaving. BD=OVER-RATED. enough said.

@reeldeelpeel I would have also enjoyed a victory for the Cavies. I saw both corps perform in Sioux Falls, SD. I naturally dislike BD shows (2003 being the exception), and the mirrors made the show feel cold and disconnected. It did create cool effect and mask mistakes though.

@elkabong1961 because alot of their staff (percussion head, and several others) moved to Santa Clara. It was a very stressful year for Phantom 2009 :(

Hm. Yeah, we all have our favorite corps, but I've always thought it strange when people boo a corps for whatever placement they got. The corps that won, whether you think they deserved it or not, worked just as hard as any to get where they are, and if for nothing else, they deserve respect and appreciation for that. What is this booing nonsense.

i love it how now everyone that isn't a BD fan.. doesn't just not care for bd... but hates bd because they won 2009... and that is bull crap... bd deserved to win hands down!... and just because they did win hands down even when Carolina crown was AMAZING that year (not as amazing as bd) it doesn't give people a good reason to start hating them... BD is amazing and what they do is godly... if u start hating a group over something stupid like this...u might want to stop being a 5 year old

Their winning is fine with me, but they didn't deserve the second-highest score ever. It was a good show, just not THAT good. If you look at the two 99.15 shows, they completely surpass it in every way except flash. (which i guess is what judges go for now)

It really upsets me to see the Blue Devils act like that during the Awards. All the other corps are in their ranks staying still and the Blue Devils are moving around acting like they could care less. And then when Carolina Crown was announced in second place, BD's reaction was disgusting. Screaming, walking around, ect. Very classless in my opinion. I understand you just won the World Championships, but the celebrating comes AFTER the awards, not during.

BD is a nonchalant corps and doesn't care about the militaristic aspects of drum corps. Its not a lack of class, but a difference of opinion.

you see fans and players all start celebrating even seconds before the clock counts to zero.
its not a matter of being "classless" its simply a different style.
one issue I would have with the "super strict ranks" etc. is that people will push people to make sure they dont "break ranks"- where BD will not make such a huge deal out of it. thats a bigger issue, I'd say

@TakerFan55 I definitely agree with you. BD should not have acted that way. It's unsightly, rude, and just plain cocky. The Crown is one of my favorite corps and was so happy for them. They didn't deserve BD's actions toward them when the score was announced. The fact that the Crown got 2nd!.....prooves that the activity is just getting stronger and stronger plus the GE of today's corps remains fresh and original for the most part.

I love the people who screamed "what?!" when Carolina Crown got the silver. They deserved the Gold hands down. In my opinion, and I'm not biased (Phantom is my fav) Blue devils didn't deserve the gold AT ALL.

I am older and guess my opinion is biased towards SCV but really thought they got a unfair deal..not to take away from Carolinas performance, and Devils far out distanced everyone this year...

God, i remember this night. I was so pissed. Crown should have taken 1st. BD fans, you can think all you want, but in all reality, BD was garbage in finals. If you don't believe me, watch the show closely. The drum break was crap. It's all politics. There is no way in hell that BD won by almost 2 full points and took first in drums with a 19.98 (i think). Haha, i noticed that when they announced crown as 2nd, everybody started leaving. BD=OVER-RATED. enough said.

Respond to this video... ok first off u might want to stop blabbing out ur negative coments like that.. they might get u killed some day.. and second were u even at the finals? did u see them live or on HD video? did u see the judge tapes? anything like that to prove your garbage coment? third.. everyone started leaving because the show was over... and those are people that just dont wanna see the encore.. and fourth.. BD IS ABSOLUTELY NOT OVERRATED.. they are amazing...watch them practice

I was there (wearing my Kingsmen jacket) BD were the best that night. My favorite Corps performance were the Vanguards and Blue Stars.
