I personally don't care what Laird says or drives, or who pays him, but I know our oceans are getting more polluted every day. Who does that help? I run a biz that creates alot of waste but also saves alot of energy. I drive a big truck and I travel to the beach alot too. So now when I run on the beach or the trails I always carry a bag and fill it with trash, so I can at least lower someone else's carbon footprint.

1) Traveling all around the world to find the perfect wave?

2) Driving to the beach in your giant SUV or pick-up?

3) Buy new gear constantly?

of course none of our individual efforts are going to effect a complete paradigm shift, because our culture is completely dependent on oil, but the basic message is sound, and that is, do what you can. Don't throw plastic (which is made of oil) into the ocean or into storm drains. Or take it one step further, and buy as little plastic goods as you can. Among other things. Change starts with each person, it starts with ourselves.
