Just why do all these OTC or prescription meds NEED to have acetaminophen in combination, anyway? The huge pharma companies are WAY TOO POWERFUL. It's true! I took Tylenol #3 for years for a whiplash injury. When I was tested for liver enzymes, mine were sky high, and I was diagnosed with liver damage. @angela53510 you have liver damage because you are addicted to pain killers. Codeine has serious effects on your body as well that are even worse. No pain drug should be used long term. You must treat the cause of your pain whether it is psychological or physical instead of suppressing the symptoms.

I'd guess you didn't bother to watch the video. The point was that Acetaminophen is in so many different products it's relatively easy to overdose. Thopter, you can never know what is is to go thru something like this unless you go thru it yourself. My daughter had to have a liver transplant because she took acetaminophen for a hangover. Acetaminophen with alcohol can be deadly. The UK has put out a product that prevents acetaminophen from having harmful side effects, while at the same time retaining the medicinal properties. The AASLD has recommended we test the product here for safety but also warns that it may cost more to produce.

About 10 yrs or more there was a bunch of kidney damage done by tylenol used in hospitals, anyone else remember this? I think some lawsuits were made....
But what pharma company is behind this video. And how many people get burned stomachs and ruined esophagus from ASA Aspirin. Obviously, no one wants to suffer if they are in pain, so they will take what they feel is best for them. This video is just soooo "caring" in its approach, it makes me wonder who "they" really are......
I have back/neck problems that requires I take large doses of whatever pain meds I have OTC, or prescribed. Only problems I have with any of them are if they have caffine; then I experience anxiety issues. My level of pain makes most pain meds like eating M&M's for all the good they do me...
I'm just under the impression, that it all depends on the individual, you have crackheads living to be 80 years old, then you have people who try a street drug for the first time in there life and drop dead, btw that bitch needs to get nekkid or something.
I'm sharing a great headache relief that works without taking any medications. Turn your head to the right and with your hands, slowly pull your head towards your chest while keeping it turned to the right. Hold for a few seconds, then lift your head slowly. Do the same while turned to the left. This usually stops a headache immediately!
Everyone MUST watch CHEMtrails videos! You're being sprayed by planes w/ HARMFUL CHEMICALS, as this one of Illuminati's DEPOPULATION plans! Google HOW TO STOP CHEMtrails and see what you MUST DO to STOP their messing w/ your HEALTH and LIVES!!!
Great video, and great warning! I wonder if the young man in question already had a liver problem. I know someone who is hooked on Codeine and takes up to 18 Tylenol 3 per day if she can get her hands on it. Even taking as directed, acetymenophin is putting toxins into your liver. The liver may be able to get rid of it over time if it is not overdone, of course, but now I will be more careful than ever.
4000 mg a day is what I heard. Tho ANYONE on regular meds ought to have routine blood work. BTW- they add it to codeine so that people dont abuse codeine. I know go figure. I know a girl that purposely tried to suicide on acetaminophen. You friend should do a colon cleanse.
What happened to good old aspirin anyway, for pain relief? I was surprised ppl had the Tylenol reflex for every little pain when I lived in the US. I guess the advertising had done its job well. Me I take aspirin.
You make a good point but aspirin can make you sick, too. I used to take aspirin for off and on headaches. One day, I suddenly broke out in a cold sweat and felt nauseous. It came out of nowhere. One minute I felt fine and the next blaah. When my friend saw I was feeling sick, she suggested eating a bit of ice cream. I did not feel like eating anything but I did it. In minutes, my nausea was gone and I felt fine. Amazing. Ice cream is really not good for you either but it worked.
Your story doesn't prove that aspirin was the cause of your problem. You said you took it for years without a problem. My point is that aspirin is a simple molecule and cheap, and has over 100 years use behind it, never caused liver damage or any permanent damage whereas acetaminophen is a newer molecule, very sophisticated therefore it breaks down with more difficulty in the system.
Talking to your pharmacist or doctor is not a solution b/c they are in it for the money, not for your health.
Aspirin kills dozens of people every year however. Although I prefer it myself as a pain reliever and stopped taking acetominophen ages ago when I was having some reactions to it.
Informative vid...btw... I'm letting everyone out there know the Chinese Communist Party has been persecuting 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps and forced to make stuff sold here. They take organs from them and sell them to rich people. The media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.
However the delivery of this verbal commentary is based on fact and can be validated I have witness this response to Tylenol as a RN working in the ER
EXACTLY,If people dont take the time to educate THEMSELVES then they suffer the consequences.People need to stop depending on others words and start learning and taking responsibility for their own existence. Governments and world wide corporations are only a reflection of the lazy, repetitive and greedy population.
you should do your own research to get the answers, instead of talking out of your asshole. She is 100% right on, and the risk is 100-fold greater for those who indulge in alcohol and pop tylenol. NOTHING made by big pharma is good for you. If you don't know that by now, you fit right into the sheep flock.
Big pharma is designed to aggravate your symptoms, produce new ones, or kill you (slowly or more quickly).

You are mentally retarded. I was talking about her attitude. I was not talking about the subject matter. Grow brains dogismyth, you are the stupidest fuck to walk on Earth.
YOU are the rude one. Let me send you a bottle of Tylenol, my treat. Take them all tonight. And get yourself fixed. We wouldn't want some Neanderthal like you procreating.
Thank you. I've known about the liver toxicity in Tylenol for years, and you hear about people popping them like candy - I know my dad does, and he has liver problems. People should try several different remedies before resorting to a pain reliever, such as: drinking more water, closing eyes for 5 minutes and rubbing the forehead, or avoiding known stressors like loud noises or bright lights.
if you drink too much water you die too. there is a thing called personal responsibility.if you are dumb and take too much acetaminophen then you deserve the consequences.
I agree. However...might not be dumbness...may be inadequate education
Product advertising has literally burned it into consumer psyche as "safe and effective"
In products I've examined EVERY ONE said NOTHING externally about the actual risks
The outside box doesn't say it, the bottle itself doesn't say it...is it REALLY realistic to expect the average person to read & understand the clinical summary? Given the consumers' practical education levels in this country (US)...I don't believe it is
I first heard about this in '92. One thing not expressed in the video is that alcohol should be completely AVOIDED when using acetaminophen / Tylenol. Even a beer or glass of wine with this drug can make you VERY sick. I had a nurse once tell me that acetaminophen / Tylenol suicide is VERY easy. And since everyone's chemical makeup varies, what you can handle might kill me. Actually, if you think you can "handle it" (acetaminophen / alcohol) you have a death wish. "Please God! Take me now!"
It may be an antidote for an imminent crisis, but it will not repair any damage already done to the liver. From what I've read, significant liver damage can occur quite quickly...within days.
"Acetylcysteine is the commonly used antidote in emergency rooms."-ensign962114
This video may be very helpful, but she's wrong that no one else is spreading the alarm.
Many people have tried to bring this to public attention over the past 15+ years, but major media didn't support their disclosures (not going to bite the drug company ads that feed them, right?)
Public awareness has improved over the past few years with increasing publicity on the internet
Now that people can watch a vid instead of read a "boring" article more will benefit from the knowledge
The warning is good, but the way it's being done, with many of the usual cliches of mainstream television (we're out of time, thanks for having me, and the idiotic "wow!") just wasn't needed.
Reading labels and following dosage instructions is of utter importance when taking any medication including natural meds. So many feel that if a substance is natural it can't hurt me so I can take as much as I like...NOT TRUE. Always follow dosage instructions. It could save your life.
A Doctor told me to stay away from acetaminophen. Moreover, he explained that the human body has a life-time amount one should not exceed w/ this drug.
No I don't recall what that life time amount is, but it warrants investigation.
All of the medications are deadly. Whether over the counter or prescription. Natural remedies are the only way to avoid this. All of these drugs made by man are dangerous. Look into homeopathic ways to heal the body
If you are precribed Vicoden , Lortab , Percocet or any narcotic / analgesic combo be aware of the amount of acetameniphen it contains. If it says 7.5 / 500 it contains 7.5 mg of an active opiate , hydro or oxy codone and the latter number is the amount of acetameniphen. doctors don't explain the breakdown and problems can arise. pharmaceuticals can have toxic effect when taken in excess or combined with other pills/ vitamins/ herbs . ANY pill can be detrimental consumers need to stay aware.
My brother, who was an MD, committed suicide by intentionally overdosing on Tylenol. He essentially bled to death internally. I subsequently learned that many people inadvertently overdose on Tylenol due to treatment of pain or injury and have toxic reactions that seriously damage their livers. I think it's important for the public to know that it is easy to take more than you should and have a toxic reaction.
Why couldn't you have just told us you were talking about Tylenol in your alert email instead of building up the hype and forcing us to come to this site to watch your damn video?
You must be jealous, iyotduot! I don't blame you! Being an American is the most awesome lifestyle offered. Freedom to think for ourselves, Freedom to respond to idiots like you! Freedom, Let it Ring!
25% of the planets prisoners reside in this dumbed down, fluoridated, chemically poisoned, fascist dictatorship.....You are free to be a slave to the corporatocracy... you chump!
Again, obvious jealous ignorance. We are able to choose and with hard work, have good lives. We can buy organic, choose not to smoke toxins, and go where we will. We can drive fast sport cars, live in the country or the city, get an education (you might consider this) and help to make the planet a better place. These are things it is apparent you do not think about doing, finefilth (seems like an appropriate name!)
Not for long if the trends continue.. 50 % of this country has been pauperized( making less than 18,000 a year)and cant afford a dental appointment never mind organic or a 120 year old internal combustion engine payment.. not to worry tho . codex alimentarus will finish off supplements and corrupt organic food into another stealth poison...I got a 30 grand 4 year education and make 10 bucks an hour working 67 hours a week in a corporate dictatorship for shelter bread and water.. heil hitler
Education does not necessarily change a negative attitude. I would not hire someone with your hostility. Obviously, others think the same. I would be concerned about the toxic fumes your thinking would put into my work environment.
What kind of parasitism is it that you do??? I bet its a completely unneccessary service that human beings dont really need AND WOULD BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT.....Why would i want to work in your nuerotic henhouse anyway?
Go ahead, tell me your career .... i would be glad to logically debunk it as another useless to humans parasite job.... Its easy to do as most jobs fit this description in our phony, rigged, planned economy of fictions.
I provide others the opportunity to change their lives for the better, to move out of the limits of their self-created hells. The key is, they have to have a willingness to be successful. Something that I would surmise you lack!
I thought it sounded like paracetamol. Did not know you could buy it with the built in antedote either. Yes they tell us it is much safer than aspirin. Truth is anything alient to the body that isn't takent to nourish is a risk.
Can someone message me with the brand that carries the antidote? I wanted to cry with Beltanebabe55's post, so sad. x
Being Australian does not exempt us from the dangers of this potentially lethal drug. In fact it seems that nowhere in the world exempts anyone from this and many more 'legal' drugs which are so readily available. Thank you HSI for dealing with these monsters which are primarily made in the name of the almighty dollar. I have been an avid reader of HSI Bulletins and emails for some time now... oh, by the way... I never knew Jenny was so pretty! Here's to HSI for the work they do. PC Australia.
She never talked about what is a safe dose of acetaminophen.Sounds to me like a scare campaign. The bottom line is to promote her webite and newsletter. It is full of promotional materials for alternative medicines. It encourages alternative "natural" therapy not accepted by main stream medicine. A greater tragedy is if these people stop their regular insulin or other medications they can end up very very sick, while the alternative medications kick in, if it does at all.
kimchiew... please listen to the video again. You will hear Jenny clearly state that the recommended dose needs to be STRICTLY adhered to. There was no campaign for anyone to STOP insulin or other drug taking, just a warning and there may be a promotion of 'her products', however there is no suggestion that anyone should simply STOP taking their recommended medication. That would be totally irresponsible and silly to say the least. Shock tactics are sometimes needed to wake people up.
I have listened to the video a few times. The case of Marcus Trunk she quoted she never said how many was taken to cause the toxicity. It implied that he took prescribed and then OTC acetaminophen over a short period and ended up death. All I wrote was that it would be a tragedy if people just listened to Jenny or read the newsletter and switched therapy without consulting their usual drs. The HSI bulletin is very strong on slamming traditional medicine.
Drugs sometimes cause the Immune System to fight them as if they are an invading substance. This battle goes on all Day and Night. This struggle burns up much oxygen out of the body. Oxygen deprivation & starvation could be killing the liver. Lack of oxygen in the brain causes depression and many times leads people on to commit suicide.
Indirectly then, drugs kill. But the mortician never puts that on the Death Certificate any more than they would put down someone died from acetaminophen.
The key is to realize that no doctor knows your body better than you do, that the pharma industry is all about money, not about health. Find a good naturopath, a good chiropractor, a good anyone who does not automatically reach for the prescription pad. Do some reading on good diet, not fad diet. Learn about oxygen therapy, good books on that available. (This therapy has been been around well over 100 years, but your doc won't mention it to you.) YOU are solely responsible for your health!
I have had severe reactions to acetominophrin, it was in different over the counter drugs. Fortunately one day my wife gave me tylenol with no additives, I had the reaction again, since then I've know not to take the drug. Fortunately that was a long time ago. However do not trust the hospitols, they gave me darvacette containing the drug and there I went again even after clearly stating I was allergic on my entrie forms.
If the other name for this drug is paracetamol it is available with an inbuilt antedote but is more expsensive in that form. As far as I am concerned it should not be available for sale or prescription without the antidote. A lot of people in UK take paracetamol to try and kill themselves, they then wake up in hospital glad to still be alive only to find out that they are dying from liver failure....very sad AND avoidable with the built in antidote.
The only way your brain will know that your body is healed is when YOU DON'T HAVE PAIN so if you take pain-pills HOW DO YOU EXPECT your brain to know when your body is healed if your are disrupting the pain message that the brain should be getting naturally?

This is not news. Too much of just about anything in your medicine cabinet can kill you.
Common aspirin can kill you, sometimes with as few as 8 tablets.
Kids are concentrating dextromethorphan, found in most cough medicines, to get high and some are dying from that.
Ibuprofen is toxic too.
Things in your medicine cabinet can be dangerous.

Great video, and great warning! I wonder if the young man in question already had a liver problem. I know someone who is hooked on Codeine and takes up to 18 Tylenol 3 per day if she can get her hands on it. Even taking as directed, acetymenophin is putting toxins into your liver. The liver may be able to get rid of it over time if it is not overdone, of course, but now I will be more careful than ever.
qbulb 2 years ago
4000 mg a day is what I heard. Tho ANYONE on regular meds ought to have routine blood work. BTW- they add it to codeine so that people dont abuse codeine. I know go figure. I know a girl that purposely tried to suicide on acetaminophen. You friend should do a colon cleanse.

Aspirin can be dangerous too. It can cause serious stomach bleeds if you take too much.
People need to follow directions on the label...if they don't know then ask a doctor or pharmacist. This isn't rocket science.
shonester 2 years ago
You make a good point but aspirin can make you sick, too. I used to take aspirin for off and on headaches. One day, I suddenly broke out in a cold sweat and felt nauseous. It came out of nowhere. One minute I felt fine and the next blaah. When my friend saw I was feeling sick, she suggested eating a bit of ice cream. I did not feel like eating anything but I did it. In minutes, my nausea was gone and I felt fine. Amazing. Ice cream is really not good for you either but it worked.
qbulb 2 years ago
Your story doesn't prove that aspirin was the cause of your problem. You said you took it for years without a problem. My point is that aspirin is a simple molecule and cheap, and has over 100 years use behind it, never caused liver damage or any permanent damage whereas acetaminophen is a newer molecule, very sophisticated therefore it breaks down with more difficulty in the system.
Talking to your pharmacist or doctor is not a solution b/c they are in it for the money, not for your health.
Khamomil 2 years ago
Aspirin kills dozens of people every year however. Although I prefer it myself as a pain reliever and stopped taking acetominophen ages ago when I was having some reactions to it.

Product advertising has literally burned it into consumer psyche as "safe and effective"

paula2ajalaking 2 years ago
I first heard about this in '92. One thing not expressed in the video is that alcohol should be completely AVOIDED when using acetaminophen / Tylenol. Even a beer or glass of wine with this drug can make you VERY sick. I had a nurse once tell me that acetaminophen / Tylenol suicide is VERY easy. And since everyone's chemical makeup varies, what you can handle might kill me. Actually, if you think you can "handle it" (acetaminophen / alcohol) you have a death wish. "Please God! Take me now!"

No question acetaminophen and preparations containing it can be dangerous, but this sounds a bit like an advertisement for that NAC stuff.
Acetylcysteine is the commonly used antidote in emergency rooms.
Also, the combination of alcohol and acetaminophen has probable hepatotoxic effects, not recommended as a hangover cure.
Not medically trained myself, but always wary!
ensign962114 2 years ago
It may be an antidote for an imminent crisis, but it will not repair any damage already done to the liver. From what I've read, significant liver damage can occur quite quickly...within days.

Now that people can watch a vid instead of read a "boring" article more will benefit from the knowledge

never take more then 2 tylenol a day.
JadeTomZ 2 years ago
Studies definitely support 4000mg/day limit. A few conclude even 2gm/day is dangerous
As she mentioned MAJOR danger exists when you combine over-the-counter meds each containing acetaminophen. You can go over 4000mg very fast
Even with prescription meds it's easy to OD.
Vicodin ES contains 750mg per pill and some prescriptions exceed the safe daily dose
Tell your doctor to prescribe meds with HALF the levels of acetaminophen. You have choices

ANY pill can be detrimental consumers need to stay aware.
manthundersgirl 2 years ago 3
My brother, who was an MD, committed suicide by intentionally overdosing on Tylenol. He essentially bled to death internally. I subsequently learned that many people inadvertently overdose on Tylenol due to treatment of pain or injury and have toxic reactions that seriously damage their livers. I think it's important for the public to know that it is easy to take more than you should and have a toxic reaction.

A greater tragedy is if these people stop their regular insulin or other medications they can end up very very sick, while the alternative medications kick in, if it does at all.
kimchiew 2 years ago
kimchiew... please listen to the video again.
MrAttadude 2 years ago 2
I have listened to the video a few times. The case of Marcus Trunk she quoted she never said how many was taken to cause the toxicity. It implied that he took prescribed and then OTC acetaminophen over a short period and ended up death. All I wrote was that it would be a tragedy if people just listened to Jenny or read the newsletter and switched therapy without consulting their usual drs. The HSI bulletin is very strong on slamming traditional medicine.
kimchiew 2 years ago
Drugs sometimes cause the Immune System to fight them as if they are an invading substance. This battle goes on all Day and Night. This struggle burns up much oxygen out of the body. Oxygen deprivation & starvation could be killing the liver. Lack of oxygen in the brain causes depression and many times leads people on to commit suicide.
Indirectly then, drugs kill. But the mortician never puts that on the Death Certificate any more than they would put down someone died from acetaminophen.
peacepipe4 2 years ago
The key is to realize that no doctor knows your body better than you do, that the pharma industry is all about money, not about health. Find a good naturopath, a good chiropractor, a good anyone who does not automatically reach for the prescription pad. Do some reading on good diet, not fad diet. Learn about oxygen therapy, good books on that available. (This therapy has been been around well over 100 years, but your doc won't mention it to you.) YOU are solely responsible for your health!
