My sister and I had the good fortune to train under him when he opened his studio in Winnipeg back in the early 1970's. I remember his beautiful wife and daughter at the time. He was a fantastic teacher and we still think of those days, thank you for the video!!
I met GM Park when I was attending GTF in Fairbanks, Ak. He was an awesome instructor and knew everyone's ability when he saw it. Rest in Peace Grand Master Park
I met Master Park in 1975 when I was 15 years old.. He had come to my Sa Ba Nim's dojang, Master Jae Hun Kim. I was amazed at his skill - he sparred with and toyed with our black belts! But more so, his kindness, his humanity, struck me.. Master Park took me aside to teach me a 180 spining hook kick with a roundhouse off the same leg. I was yellow belt! My life is better from knowing this brilliant, skilled, and kind man. I knew this great man for a week, and I will miss this great man.
One comment from a friend of mine (Currently a 5th Dan Instructor with 25 years experience) who had the good fortune to study with the Grandmaster in a couple of seminar's in the 80's. He said quite simply "Better than anyone else he'd ever seen".
Flying kicks to 10 feet (3 steps run-up) breaking 8 or 9 boards (no spacers) with a side kick, 6 boards with a punch, and a ready sense of humour :)
Whats the significance of the blue band on his dobok - heaven?
Met him once at a testing. He is a prime example of greatness. The video is excellent. Thank you for bringing back memories of a time when everything was great.
