@MrTommYYZ SCTV was as important to me, if not more so, in terms of comedy as Monty Python. Python was so great, but SCTV and Kids In The Hall helped me identify with Canadian humour. And Dave seems like such a nice bloke here--really honest and down to earth. Thanks to him and the other SCTV cast, we had great laughs!
I showed Strange Brew to my girfriend and she goes, "So.... so what? Its like Waynes World in Canada?" and i said "You know.... i never realized that!"
They need to make Strange Brew 2 or a GWN movie where Dave and Rick have control of the project so it gets the treatment that it needs...keep it true to its roots
Didn't know tha, but on the Strange Brew DVD I have there is an episode with Rick providing the voice.
I heard from Dave and others that Rick never liked the 'Hollywood' lifestyle and wanted his privacy...I liked his acting in pretty much everything he did.
Its the 24 year anniversary of the start of the Great White North skit, and a 2-4 is a 24 pack of beer. GWN is one of those Canadian things that became a pop culture phenomenon, and even got big in the US (like Kids in the Hall after Lorne Michaels got involved)
@puredude3 - Right, so called because it always falls right around the 24th, Queen Victoria's Birthday. Oddly, it is apparently not celebrated in the UK! This gets wrapped together with the fact that there's 2 days in a typical weekend, plus 2 extra days, which totals 4 days, and the best value for your buck if you're gonna be drinking plenty of beer is always a 24 pack. "Two-Four" is just one of those things that works phonetically; There are 12 cases, but nobody ever calls those "one-twos".

Dave Thomas is has an excellant attitude, leadership, and family heritage based in ethics for audio-visual entertainment. Something the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) may not have. The Vatician Church urgently needs your help with Unicef operations in Nigeria and Haiti with Roman Catholics!
I totally agree, but unfortunately that isn't going to happen. Back in the late 90s and early 200s, Moranis and Thomas were working on "Home Brew" but they couldn't secure financing because nobody thought it would earn enough in theatres... and then when they had a stroke of luck, there were legal troubles. Alas, the Bob & Doug McKenzie era has closed! Take off, you Hollywood financers!
He didn't know the roughriders names. :/ I don't know that I can like him anymore.... :P

You do realize that Wayne's world is about Mike Myers life growing up in Canada.?
rrtodd95 2 years ago 4
Which came first? Strange Brew or Wayne's World?
1060893 2 years ago
Strange Brew it was like 1983 and Wayne's World is 1992
rrtodd95 2 years ago 2
How could Wayne's World be about Mike Meyers life in Canada if Strange Brew pre-dated it by 9 years? Strange Brew heavily influenced Wayne's World.
1060893 2 years ago
what the hell are you talking about?

Rick Moranis retired from showbiz. In the Bob And Doug cartoon they got Dave Coulier to replace him. Weird, eh?
