  • He didn't know the roughriders names. :/ I don't know that I can like him anymore.... :P

  • Come have drinks with the bombers cheerleaders!

  • put a thumbs up on this post if your canadian !!!

  • that was awsome, and I to have the LP of that album :-) take off eh!!

  • Beauty, good interview eh. Its funny I have always been such a fan but I never knew about the history of this awesome show/movie.

  • @MrTommYYZ SCTV was as important to me, if not more so, in terms of comedy as Monty Python. Python was so great, but SCTV and Kids In The Hall helped me identify with Canadian humour. And Dave seems like such a nice bloke here--really honest and down to earth. Thanks to him and the other SCTV cast, we had great laughs!

  • I showed Strange Brew to my girfriend and she goes, "So.... so what? Its like Waynes World in Canada?" and i said "You know.... i never realized that!"

  • Yeah, eh. Where do you think Mike Myers stole the idea from, you knob?!

  • Take Off! You hoser!

  • You do realize that Wayne's world is about Mike Myers life growing up in Canada.?

  • Which came first? Strange Brew or Wayne's World?

  • Strange Brew it was like 1983 and Wayne's World is 1992

  • How could Wayne's World be about Mike Meyers life in Canada if Strange Brew pre-dated it by 9 years? Strange Brew heavily influenced Wayne's World.

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • @1060893 the brew

  • Myeres is Canadian and he stole the idea from sctv.

  • Yeah, thats sort of what I was saying. Instead everyone just replied to me saying the same thing I said like I'd never even said it.

  • hahaha hosed

  • They need to make Strange Brew 2 or a GWN movie where Dave and Rick have control of the project so it gets the treatment that it needs...keep it true to its roots

  • Rick Moranis retired from showbiz. In the Bob And Doug cartoon they got Dave Coulier to replace him. Weird, eh?

  • Didn't know tha, but on the Strange Brew DVD I have there is an episode with Rick providing the voice.

I heard from Dave and others that Rick never liked the 'Hollywood' lifestyle and wanted his privacy...I liked his acting in pretty much everything he did.

  • What's the 2/4 weekend- some holiday for Canadian hoseheads?

  • Its the 24 year anniversary of the start of the Great White North skit, and a 2-4 is a 24 pack of beer. GWN is one of those Canadian things that became a pop culture phenomenon, and even got big in the US (like Kids in the Hall after Lorne Michaels got involved)

  • There is actually a 24 weekend though it Victoria Day in May.

  • Yeah: "Everyone would gather on the 24th of May, sitting in the sand to watch the fireworks display."

Beauty! Geddy Lee from Rush, eh!

  • That was a beauty segment, eh? ;D

  • @puredude3 - Right, so called because it always falls right around the 24th, Queen Victoria's Birthday. Oddly, it is apparently not celebrated in the UK! This gets wrapped together with the fact that there's 2 days in a typical weekend, plus 2 extra days, which totals 4 days, and the best value for your buck if you're gonna be drinking plenty of beer is always a 24 pack. "Two-Four" is just one of those things that works phonetically; There are 12 cases, but nobody ever calls those "one-twos".

People who question Canadian media should write to the proper authorities as in the above. The Queen of England has and will support all ethical conduct of Canadians and subjects of the Crown in my beleif. Write today!

  • Who gives a hoot what the Queen of England thinks?

  • they were my favorite characters from SCTV..12 Days of Christmas is the most epic song ever..and Take Off..hahahahaha it's awesome...these guys make me proud to be Canadian eh..if you don't like them..you can take off you hoser! lmao

*puts some back bacon in the frying pan and cracks open a Molson Canadian stubby*

  • Take off eh? You hoser!

  • 24 Years. Damn. Take Off Hoser!@

  • Great interview, your the man Dave.

  • I would have liked to see Rick there as well.

  • Me too. I know Rick hasn't done much lately, but I, too, would like to see him being interviewed alongside Dave.

  • take off eh!

  • Beauty eh.

  • I LOVE these guys!!!! Hosers!

  • Awesome video, thanks for posting this.

  • STRANGE BREW 2.. WE NEED IT NOW!

  • I totally agree, but unfortunately that isn't going to happen. Back in the late 90s and early 200s, Moranis and Thomas were working on "Home Brew" but they couldn't secure financing because nobody thought it would earn enough in theatres... and then when they had a stroke of luck, there were legal troubles. Alas, the Bob & Doug McKenzie era has closed! Take off, you Hollywood financers!

  • Guess not seeing as how they got a cartoon now

  • @brodietebay - hey, like brodie. how are ya,eh -did you like catch on to the first one that it was like tesla running the hockey team,eh?

  • I found this after having a coffee sandwich.

  • lmao i was eating the first time i heard that and almost choked laughing

  • Long like bob and doug and if you dont like it.

    TAKE OFF!!!!

  • yes
