I have mixed feelings about this song. Charice undeniably gave justice to the song. My concern is the song itself. Burke sang it last year- now w/ increasing # of YT att'n. Burke may have opted out, & Bruno handed it over to Charice. It wasn't penned for Charice. NO COLLABORATION! I like both artists, but there are better songs in Charice's Ist album (needing ad boost). "One Day," is an inspiring collaboration of 2 talented teens, NJonas & Charice w/ their struggles & dreams imprinted.

for me, regardless who sang it first, as long as the artist can provide character that is distinctive and could make a version of her own to the song, is what really important. the quality of the voice, the passion that the singer emits are elements that i enjoy most even if she is not the first choice. charice is a talented singer, and at par with the others so let us just support her. every gem counts.

I find it absolutely bizarre that a radio station can play music that has not been officially released (i.e. demos). That is why songs are tracked by companies like ASCAP, BMI and the like.

Why the noise now when Bruno Mars offered BIE to Charice? AB had the song years ago but unfortunately her team DID not include BIE on her album. So automatically BIE is officially a Charice song, not AB.

@everyone: just because AB recorded it first doesn't mean she's made it popular. Apparently this was never included in Ms. Burke's album. This happens more often than not. Like Paula Abdul made a demo for "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" before Kylie made it popular. Mary J. Blige's demo for "Umbrella" before Rihanna shoot it to #1. Charice's version is about to be heard (in full on the 18th). We'll find out whether she's able to crack the Billboard 100 again with this Bruno Mars produced song.

Now, Bruno Mars, believing that the song has potentials, gave it to Charice instead, and now, she will be releasing it next week. So there you have it Alexandra fans. Her team's biggest mistake? @lancecobi Now that I agree with. As an Alexandra fan, I think it's a shame that her label would reject a song with so much potential. But it doesn't surprise me. Syco is pretty terrible label, and a lot of Alexandra's best songs were shelved because of them. Hopefully, this mishap won't happen again.

@spawnkiddo No, it's not. This, along with several other songs from Alexandra were recorded almost two years ago, but did not make the album cut for Overcome. Over a year ago, those songs that didn't make the cut (BIE included) were leaked to he internet, along with Leona Lewis' recorded songs that didn't make the cut, by some German interns working for Syco (This actually made news on the web). So no, it wasn't a demo for Charice. It was originally made for Alex, and Charice got her leftovers.
@superx57 Leftovers? LOL. The connotation of that word in the context it is used in has the inevitable effect of producing negative vibes. If one were to use that same logic, then over 50% of the songs in the market are leftovers - LOL. There are a many reasons why a song is not placed on an album, so to classify the song as a leftover is demeaning to the artist who will actually get the song. While I have yet to hear Charice's full version, my ears are already deferring to her sound.

Her debut single, Hallelujah, not only became the best selling single by a British female artist, but became the fastest selling download in Europe. She's arguably one of the most talented female artists to come from Europe. She isn't well known outside of Europe because she hasn't released anything in America, but she's already sold more records than Charice who's known pretty much everywhere. BTW, I'm from the USA.

@Air287 I did give a positive opinion about Charice. I've always said she is an amazing singer. However, there's a sense of artistry and originality that I think she greatly lacks. I've always felt that way even long before the whole "Alex vs Charice" thing came to light. We all know that Charice is well known in America. I was just explaining to someone why Alexandra isn't yet well known in America (despite the fact that I'm American and I'm one of her biggest fans).

@surfsup44hfy You're forgeting that Bruno and Alexandra recorded this song over a year and a half ago, so initially, Bruno did want Alex to sing this song, but the label, who had final say on what went on Overcome, did not want the song. Now, we have no idea what-so-ever whether or not the plan was to use it on Alexandra's second album, but the song had to go to someone before it got old, so it went to Charice. Alex hasn't released anything in the US yet, but she plans to with her second album.

I find it absolutely bizarre that a radio station can play music that has not been officially released (i.e. demos). That is why songs are tracked by companies like ASCAP, BMI and the like.

@everyone: just because AB recorded it first doesn't mean she's made it popular. Apparently this was never included in Ms. Burke's album. This happens more often than not. Like Paula Abdul made a demo for "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" before Kylie made it popular. Mary J. Blige's demo for "Umbrella" before Rihanna shoot it to #1. Charice's version is about to be heard (in full on the 18th). We'll find out whether she's able to crack the Billboard 100 again with this Bruno Mars produced song.

Now, Bruno Mars, believing that the song has potentials, gave it to Charice instead, and now, she will be releasing it next week. So there you have it Alexandra fans. Her team's biggest mistake? Rejecting this song that has all the potential to become a hit.

Syco is pretty terrible label, and a lot of Alexandra's best songs were shelved because of them. Hopefully, this mishap won't happen again.

@spawnkiddo No, it's not. This, along with several other songs from Alexandra were recorded almost two years ago, but did not make the album cut for Overcome. Over a year ago, those songs that didn't make the cut (BIE included) were leaked to he internet, along with Leona Lewis' recorded songs that didn't make the cut, by some German interns working for Syco (This actually made news on the web). So no, it wasn't a demo for Charice. It was originally made for Alex, and Charice got her leftovers.

If one were to use that same logic, then over 50% of the songs in the market are leftovers - LOL. There are a many reasons why a song is not placed on an album, so to classify the song as a leftover is demeaning to the artist who will actually get the song. While I have yet to hear Charice's full version, my ears are already deferring to her sound.

She's arguably one of the most talented female artists to come from Europe. Bruno later felt Charice did the best rendition and voice for his song (and not even himself) and thus presented it to her. Sorry, never heard of Alexandra in the US.

@surfsup44hfy You're forgeting that Bruno and Alexandra recorded this song over a year and a half ago, so initially, Bruno did want Alex to sing this song, but the label, who had final say on what went on Overcome, did not want the song. Now, we have no idea what-so-ever whether or not the plan was to use it on Alexandra's second album, but the song had to go to someone before it got old, so it went to Charice. Alex hasn't released anything in the US yet, but she plans to with her second album.
