Hi I actually change strings very regularly, about every 2 gigs or once a month if I don't play so often.

It varies depending on the make of strings you use and how oily your fingers are (kinda gross) :P

Yo mate.

I've been playing guitar for about 3 years and i can tell you this: while you're not preforming(or recording or whatever)you DON"T NEED TO change your strings UNLESS something bothers you(strings feel gross\you can't slide properly etc). basically - if you don't need great sound or don't have a problem with your current set, you don't need new strings

besides, bass strings are much more endurable than guitar thanks to their thickness.
