My sister is Nina Perlove and we attended the concert. Your posts are terrific and you speak very intelligently for such a young person. Keep up with your music and commentary. We like your posts!
Great job! OMG the Mason Bates piece did he actually fnd a way to combine my love of underground house and electronica with my love of classical music?!! :c)
Thank you so much for your vlogs. They are as much a personal viewpoint of your experience as they are a documentary insight into The Making of... it's awesome - the positive experiences that everyone is having, and the whole project itself.
oh, ok. my mistake. he played a very small roll in the orchestra right? i mean like i couldn't hear any sound of the piano. ps. both toy piano and real piano
very good documentation on this piece, I know for one thing. you being at a very young age getting all this info is very good.. please keep up the good work.. I wish I had to submit a video audtion piece I would of made it..
im so disappointed! i thought the symphony was going to be a live online youtube event thingy tonight!!! now ill have to wait for someone to post an in-audience video or something :(
Aria was a bit too scary, dramatic and showy...but overall, great job on the video!!

That aria was way too experimental for my taste.
But it is nice that you play such a wide variety of different styles.

It's 50 years old

That is nice, it is still too experimental for me :)
But hey, different people have different tastes.

the guy playing the piano, is he in the orchestra? i think he is from Italy.
october267 2 years ago
Yes, he was featured on a video that was broadcast during the concert.
alicelizard 2 years ago
are you serious? the pianist from Italy wasn't able to go to New York? why?
october267 2 years ago
No, he was in the orchestra. They did a profile on him for the documentary being made about the YTSO, and it was broadcast during the concert.

Can't wait to see the coverage. Is it coming before the morning?
(I mean, morning there, of course. It's already half past 8 over here.)

AND THE BATES PIECE WAS INSANE! That was so amazing! AHHH! The entire performance was legendary! I won't ever forget this- completely inspiring!
I got interviewed when I left too- hopefully I'll be on tv haha
The Jazz violinist was so hip- perfect for that piece IMO

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! Wasn't it thrilling? I wish I had been able to meet you! i LOVED the bates as well

Caeli- it was amazing.
I'm honored to have participated in such an event.
I didn't like the Cage piece, but loved, loved, loved everything else. Congratulations to EVERYONE!
My favorite was Tan Dun's rendition of "Eroica" - i thought it made the night.
UGH! This is how we will achieve world peace! Music!
This is the future!
There was no Beethoven in the score- was the last "surprise" piece Beethoven?
THANK YOU YOUTUBE! Yuja Wang rocked!!

It's nice how you find the time to post several times a day.
...Gotta love John Cage. :)
For anyone as excited at the sight of visual scores as I am, here's a couple of videos to check out:
Ligeti - Artikulation
Iannis Xenakis - Metastasis
(both on YT of course)
