Holy-Terrorist:>*=* Sorry for my error, potassium chlorate[KClO3] not produce perchloric acid[HClO4], potassium chlorate[KClO3] produce chloric acid[HClO3] with sulfuric acid[H2SO4], the potassium perchlorate[KClO4] with sulfuric acid[H2SO4] can make perchloric acid[HClO4], low alkali solution of magnesium to not reactif to destroy molecule, using formic acid without sulfuric acid[H2SO4], the video [How to make potassium perchlorate (from matches)] in Youtube!
Holy-Terrorist:>*=* Use potassium chlorate[KClO3] dilued in water[H2O] and sulphuric acid[H2SO4] dilued in water, i prefer gradually pour the sulphuric acid[H2SO4] dilued in the water[H2O] into potassium chlorate[KClO3] dilued in the water[H2O] can make potassium sulfate[K2SO4] and perchloric acid[HClO4] of the science is very complexe!
did same test with potassium chlorate along and sulphuric acid and never get a reaction, then added sugar and voila, got the reaction at once, then just sugar and sulphuric acid and nothing happened, then added potassium chlorate and got reaction after adding it
@12fhers Yeah the sugar is important, try a 50/50 sugar/potassium chlorate or you can adjust it 60/40 and see how you like the reaction. I like 50/50 since it ignites quick and burns for a good second or two without a "ton" of smoke.

If i remember correctly it was 50% powdered sugar. Also thats rooto drain opener, pretty good stuff, works on drains too.

ahah.... maybe sugar its not necessary cuz h2so4 +klo3 make hclo3 and k2so4 and its very hot reaction.
