  • THE MARS VOLTA FTW!!!! my most fav band of all time

  • This cover is fucking awesome. I love the original too.

  • were is this on the Bedlam in Goliath? not the 1 i got.. sic track though

  • @crookedwiretap89 Its a bonus track on the special edition :D

  • it was like robert plant and jimmy page with siouxie and the banshees

  • I haven't actually heard a band cover Siouxsie well but this is definitely the best I've heard. As good as this is the Banshees cannot be topped or compared to, not that that's the point of covers anyway, but for anyone that hasn't heard the original, this should be your gateway into hearing the best version of "Pulled to Bits" on the Nocturne live album. Click away now :) --->

  • if you want this song mp3 free seriously search pulled to bits on 4sharedotcom

  • i really like this cover. I usally don't like remake of my favorite song but they made this their own.

  • i want cedrics hair

  • @VioletChildBand I want Cedrics life.

  • @VioletChildBand i have it haa

  • I'm for ever addicted to Siouxsie's voice, but that doesn't do any harm to this version, it is from another galaxy, also very worthwile but overambitious if they try to make one forget this one in a zillion voice. But I suppose that was not the intention.

  • you seem to be very angry. why don't you relax a bit? a lot of us are acutually enjoying this cover.

  • that would make sense about siouxsie.......all of my horrible memories of abuse came rushing at me when first hearing her song.

  • This is a good version. I read that Siouxsie wrote this song about child abuse. kinda sad.

  • I love the original song but this is a good cover as well. The drumming is maybe a bit too overpowering though in my opinion. But that is probably because I'm so used to the banshees version.

  • i alwayz wondered where tmv getz some of their influence and now i know lol...

but only after listening 2 the original version by siouxsie n the banshees, n then some of their other songs

  • omar wasnt influenced by them he said in some interview that he was influenced and inspired by some salsa pianist from cuba or something like that

  • that would be larry harlow. hes playing the amazing keys on l'via l'viaquez.

  • and he said he wanted to relate his songs to situations in movies..and how it makes you feel or something....

but i meant tmv as a whole not just omar

  • my drummer grew up with them and said their major influences were mahavishnu orchestra, magma, king crimson, various jazz and salsa guys and another band i cant rememeber how to spell cos im too high.. haha

  • they are obviously influenced by mahavishnu orchestra and 70's fusion among other things.

  • obvi.

  • iv never heard the original, but i like this song alot,

i like allve there cover's,I dont think Birthday was that good,SugarCubes make that song glow.

  • Having not heard the original I can't say whethere it's a good cover or not, but as a piece of music it's actually quite beautiful in my opinion.

  • As much as I adore TMV, I can't stand any of their covers. I understand that these are made at the expense of the band's amusement, but I just hate it so much. You can feel the way it doesn't click with their style and such, and when that happens the sound is just sour. Listening to this makes me cringe. The Mars Volta is a musical brilliance, and don't assume that I'm ragging on them because I'm not. I've been their fan for years already, and I'm sure I speak for many when I say this isn't good

  • @forgotenfew2 Dude, I think it's just that you've gotten used to Omar's writing, so of course this sounds unnatural to you. But for me these covers are a rare treat, I didn't think they did covers. I wonder if there are more.

  • you're wrong. and you know it. this is just a tribute to a band they like. they're just having fun. why not?

  • I'm right, and u know it. Just because they're having "fun" doesn't escape the fact that it's a horrible cover.

  • Subjectivity cannot be reduced to fact.

  • Neither can blind devotion to a bad cover...

  • the guitar that kicks in around 1:45 is spectacular

  • rare...

  • Evil. sounds like Lenny Cravits has been possessed by Siouxsie Sioux.

  • DUUUH THOSE FIRST CDs im a fan of mars volta i got everything :D

  • man im falling in love with this band everyday, love mars volta

  • Listen to Frances the Mute and Deloused in the Comatorium!

  • @miggy01 Deloused in the Comatarium and all of Bedlam in Goliath dude, then move to Frances the Mute

  • Listen to ev-er-ry-thing

  • rare

  • ehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • GOOD ON MARS TO COVER THIS magical song. they know great music. Its tough to do the banshees justice.

  • Who gives a fuck? Pick it apart, whatever you might do. Just shut up and like it.

  • What an ideal cover <3

  • God, I love thisss....

  • Juan does an awesome job on fretless

  • yt keeps taking down my sexy vids!!!! 0

  • you really cant say who partcularly "better." jon theodore probably couldnt do all the things thomas pridgen can do but jon plays more to the music, pridgen is ridiculous but i think jon sounds better. saying whos a better drummer is too vague, because they are two completly different styles, jon is jazz and pridgen is RnB/Gospel

  • I agree

  • Again, that's a rather sour opinion.

  • i think its more of a heads way of trying to explain something really abstract.

  • Could be.

  • i mean they dont just use the drums to keep time,i must have sounded pretty thick.

  • like its a guitar or a piano or something. drummers (myself included) tend to lock ourselves in this percussion mentality. same way a lot of guitarists put themselves into a rut. same way omar kind of plays his guitar like a percusiion instrument.

  • as long as they play im not whining

  • My best friend just did this morning, wished for her promotion and just got a call and she got it.

I'm SO sorry about this, but I had to keep it going.

  • Finally someone else that also thinks Jon was the greatest.=]

  • I'll admit, he was very talented! But, Thomas brings much more to the table. Saying Jon is better than Thomas makes me think that you both have a bitterness to change. Even if for the better.

  • there drummer reminds me of keith moon from the who in the way he plays the drums like there an instrument.

  • The drums are an instrument man. Only thing is, Thomas actually PLAYS the drums, rather than doing the typicall bass/snare beats. He's like Danny Carey. :)

  • Well, this flashes me completly! I love SATB and i love TMV, now hearing them making a Siouxsie cover is great! People, go see them live, it's awesome!

  • Is this the bonus track in the american version or something, cause the album i have has a pink floyde cover; Candy and a Currant Bun.

  • this song and things behind the sun were the best covers

  • does anyone know where i can get these

  • you are wrong!! i know who did what better!! this is the way music really is!!! i am arguing on the internet! hear me type!!

  • pulled to bits retard

  • lol

  • *claps* lol

  • hahha ok i gotta agree with both since this argument has been and will be going on forever. i think pridgen is an amazing drummer cuz he doesnt focus on beats to back everyone up but more of an instrument now, cuz he improvs and makes the drums like an instrument you know, part of the band instead of backing them. different sound now but still amazing, just something for us to listen to man, doesn't always and shouldn't always sound the same.

  • It's OK...I used to be a Mars Volta fan, but my ears got kinda weary of the falsetto voice. I think it would've been more interesting if they did a cover of "Monitor" or something.

The (SATB) Nocturne version of Pulled to Bits can't be beat!

  • He doesn't use a falsetto once in this song.

  • Ok then...if not a falsetto, then WHATEVER he does to his voice to make it sound like it does when he sings.

  • You mean vibrato?

  • It's only effects man and it sounds rude. There's not mass amounts vocal techniques there.

  • Best Banshee cover so far that I've heard.

  • Are you kidding me? thats thomas mother fuckin' pridgen.

Do me a favor and step into the nearest highway

  • hahha ok i gotta agree with both since this argument has been and will be going on forever. i think pridgen is an amazing drummer cuz he doesnt focus on beats to back everyone up but more of an instrument now, cuz he improvs and makes the drums like an instrument you know, part of the band instead of backing them. thats all i gotta sayyy nigaahhhh

  • Amazing song why wasn't on the album???

  • because it is a cover

  • Cause it's a cover?
