Hey man. I really liked your performance. Don't listen to the jerks that want to bad-mouth you. This is one of my favorite Simon songs and I think you did a great job. I wish I could do it as well. It's all relative. Each of us start our journey into acoustic guitar and we each progress at different speeds. Ain't no big thang. Merry Christmas. Now I'm going to your page to subscribe and see what else you got!
Are you mad. Yeh a great song by one of the best but man you are just making up chords all over the place! sorry. It's ok but not right in any way. It stays on the E chord way more than you think + esusp 4th.... not a major.

@plumzuk I respect your opinion and knowledge of how to play this song. My main focus was to portray the song as my interpretation and I don't believe that anything I added or missed took away from the song. Maybe you can send me the chords or post them here and I'll take a look at how Paul actually plays it. Not mad, just having fun my friend! Good Day!!
@rwperrone I know the chords to this. You've got them basically right, though I think your timing of the changes over the chorus is slightly off. I don't know why this dude is saying 'it stays on E more'. It may look like that if you just study Paul's hands, but it's Ray Phiri who's doing the heavy lifting on guitar when the band plays this. Nice job anyway.
@plumzuk You sound like one of those people who is yet to realise that music is open to interpretation. A good song is from, if you play a song the way that someone else has done, you're just copying. When you take a song and change it to suit you or how you hear it then you're doing what music was made for.
@plumzuk Your focus on the "right" way to play the song only tells the rest of us that you are listening to music for the wrong reason. Music is not a math problem to be solved. Close your eyes... Does it sound good? The rest is insignificant. This is a heart felt cover of a great song.
@vieuphoria22 Thanks for backing me up! I appreciate your understanding of music and hope all have the same view that you have. Its a perfect description of music, "close your eyes...does it sound good?" If people could not see and only relied on hearing, there would be no racism, material praise, and people can see the heart in someones voice and thoughts, not just what they look like on the outside. I keep my eyes closed just so I can see people from their thoughts! Keep it real, Peace!
