Oh wow. That is seriously such a great song. I've been wanting to learn it for ages. I saw its sheet music and thought I could never learn it. But your tutorial made it really easy. Keep up the great work. Oh... and I have a request. Nightswimming by REM. I'm sure you could make a tutorial for that, no problem:)
Hi Mike, brillllll tutorial... just let me try something with the puppy in the background.... 'Child of the forest....ssssshhhhhuuurrr up.....we're trying to learn here..... ggggggeeeeessss.....
Hi MIke I dont read music and i think your tutorials are brilliant - ignore all those idiots making crass remarks. Any chance of doing "Nobody does it better" by carly simon form James Bond. Its a brilliant piano piece and no one as done one anywhere.
Mike, thank you so much for this video (and the others you have made).
You explain things in a very easy to understand manner, and I appreciate the time you take to go over each sequence.
I'm a novice piano player and can read music and have learned most of my songs through songbooks, but learning this way is a new experience for me - and I'm liking it a lot. It seems like it sticks with me better and I feel more fully immersed in the tune.
Hi from downunder! I think you're doing a fantastic job teaching a very hard song with some difficult notes.I've been watching yr video several times and its so hard to master, but as they always say" Practice makes perfect!"Thank you again!
Hi, very cool as always. Do you know if Paul Simon wrote this on piano like the song or on acoustic guitar like he usually does? Thanks for the great lessons. Rush21121322
@rush21121322 - Paul wrote the song on guitar (in the key of G) with the intention of having Art sing it. In the studio, arranger Jimmy Freeman transposed the song to E-flat (Art's preferred key) and called the chords out to Larry Knechtel who created and played the piano part. Freeman & Knechtel later won Grammy awards for their work on this song.

Cool question, Wikopedia just told me about a studio musician named Larry Knechtel who played the classic track.. Thats interesting about Paul Simon.
Thanks for the comment.
