here's what i did. bought air in a can for cleaning electronics.$5.00 and aquarium tubing$1.00...... get the idea? the actor can trigger it himself without needing a second person and theres no hissing
How ridiculous! As someone that is involved in BPA (Bllodstain Pattern Analysis), I can tell you forst-hand that this is NOT what you want to use for experimental use!
It's very good as a demo but really needs tweaking. A shot from that angle would spray behind your victim and depending on calibre remove most of the back of the head and bounce your victims head off the car and forward again. Pasta shapes, hair and all sort - get it in there!
Thanks for sharing your ideas though. Like many people below I do it all in the edit but feel inspired to have a go 'old skool'.
I remember back when my grandpappy was in directing, they didn't need none of this fancy schmancy tubing. They just hired runaways or drug addicts. Anyways, I guess it's still a bit cheaper. What were you simulating anyway? Pellet gun trauma? Next time, use a bigger air compressor, wider hose & add some well cooked, broken up pasta noodles, clam shells and hair into it all. I say something around 2 gallons in the hose and 350 PSI of air pressure should do ya...
you can get a very similar and much simpler and far freakin cheaper effect using a trukey baster and surgical tubing. plus, its portable and you can squirt people with it (pure water goes several feet)

And it looks digital and lacks classic artist value. I will stay old school and get more impressed viewers.

No, mine looks REAL, it looks exactly like it was real. Nothings wrong with this, just saying i dont wanna go through the trouble to do it.
