The account of the siege of Masada was related to Josephus by two women who survived the suicide by hiding inside a cistern along with five children, and repeated Eleazar ben Ya'ir's exhortations to his followers, prior to the mass suicide, verbatim to the Romans. Because Judaism strongly discourages suicide, Josephus reported that the defenders had drawn lots and killed each other in turn, down to the last man, who would be the only one to actually take his own life.
John Zorns one of the best musicians there ever were. Seriously. So amazing at bass, sax. what else? I mean seriously. Holy fuck. Such new ideas and takes on music too. You can tell when listening to this that the melodies in the alternate or the diminished scale.
John Zorn has added improvisation to the art of arranging. He is not just setting the tempo, he is telling them when to solo, when to stop, when to play the head, etc...
Watch some videos of Bar Kokhba or Electric Masada to see more of his conducting and how effective it is.
Yeah to be honest, I'm having a hard time not being distubed by my favorite musicians clothing, the way they move and stuff like that. Not that it's that bad but any distraction from the music is a weakness from my side
Excelente !, hermosisimo! Recomiendo la version de la misma cancion interpretada por The Crakow Klezmer Band, en la que es acompañada por la voz de una mujer...

That would defeat the concept of a string trio, dusteroo. It's people like you that make this world an awefull place because you can't except things for what they are. Instead, you have to constantly project thoughts according to your own ideals. You have to just let things be as they are, not what they "should be."

All must bow down to "The Great Dusteroo". His ideas are so magnificent! Get over yourself fuckhead. Nobody cares about your unnecessary thoughts. You have quite the ego. Yeah, subtle drumming might sound cool...so would a combination of a dozen other instruments. Keep your worthless thoughts to yourself and let the man's music be.
arent you projecting your thoughts onto him.. haha you almost have a good argument.. bad day? bad day to be a hypocrite at least! haha grow up also john zorn is such a genius.. wow
The best suggestion I could give is to go to the Hips-Road website... hipsroadedition(dot)com However, this is for his non-Jewish music for the most part, I believe. Give it a shot anyway.
I need to buy another Zorn CD, the guy's a genius. All I have is The Big Gundown, and I'm having trouble finding more in my area. In anycase, the guy deffinitely deserves my money. Just used one of his songs in my newest video. I think it goes together rather well...
Why dose this say Jhon Zorn? Was this composed by him? Click the reply button on my post. It looks like (reply) just under my last sentence. I'll get an email telling me about your reply.
John zorn will be one of those composers held in high regard years after hes gone.
Also anyone notice bill gates playing violin? ;)

@ragecody He looks like Bill Gates and Stephen King had a child, and he became an avant-garde violinist.

would anyone agree that this music harks back to the kind of modal style exemplified by early Miles Davis?

wow ~ Personal attacks are always the best, first answer, rifght? that was a little agressive assumption you made there.
You have NO idea what I had in mind for matters of percussion.
It would be great if you really knew who the hell you're talking to when you say that ~ hell, I might've had a great idea.
but assumptions-assumptions-assumptions ~ just read again what you wrote.
...you haven't got a fucking clue.
