Sigh, it surprises me as to how thick people can be. The auto tune effect used in this song was a complete accident by the production team. Don't believe me? Look it up. Also, Cher doesn't use auto tune to correct her voice like most modern singers do. She uses it because she likes the effect it gives to her voice. And yes, she can sing without it. At least Cher controls the amount of auto tune she uses, unlike the talentless hacks these days.

To me, the show is as overrated as any Disney show. It doesn't even hold a candle to vintage shows from the 70s, 80s and 90s, you know, a period in which people were required to have talent in order to become actors, singers, directors, etc. Also, it's true, most pop stars use auto-tune, but they know how to use it correctly!
