Dude, I like the vid. I see things happen like this all the time. Fans of something, examples the Sonic and MLP:FIM fanbasses, want the companies, ie SEGA and Hasbro, want a character, Sonic and Derpy, to be the way they want, Sonic fast and fun, Derpy silly and klutzy.
