Actually, Truman Capote, the author of the novel, wanted Marilyn to starred in the film. He wrote the character of Holly with Marilyn in mind. Never mind, Audrey was a wonderful Holly and made the character and the film unforgettable.

Marilyn was oringally intended for the role of Holly Golightly, but she turned it down because she didn't like the role. Audrey however found a side to Holly that she loved.
