  • Tottaly awsome!!

  • Must have been amazing to have been there in person.

  • Which one is Nadja? The first one, the one in pink?

  • I love Regina Carter.

  • Nadja you are the best! Love to listen to your music... cousin, Anna ;o)

  • Awesome! Regina is my favorite!! Nadja taught a symposium I attended at Juilliard she is Awesome. All Three are excellent!...

  • have you seen tommy and jerry ?

  • 3 artistas,perdón ARTISTAS, CON MAYÚSCULAS

  • 3 artistas

  • Did Nadja really go out on Stage with her bra strap showing on her back? How embarrassing.

  • @surfboy who the fuck cares, listen to her PLAY

  • @surfboy You must be an American! Only americans cares about things like that!!!!!

  • Pretty damn sweet!!

  • I actually met her a few years ago because I videotaped one of her concerts. I think it was in 2007. It was at a college campus.

  • bellas todas amen

  • wow, increible, tocan excelente, es una obra muy dificil..

    felicidades

wow, incredible, excellent touch, is a very hard work ..

    congrats

  • Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg has more charmisa than should be allowed.

  • An absolute treat. The ladies have it. Fiddla

  • i cant satop watching this...im addicted!!!!

  • Its incredible the combination of genders! I love this video!

  • I am so in love with this collaboration. I just know some of these wonderful, beautiful artists strayed outside of their comfort zone. I sit comfortably between the comfortable and the outside - However, each identity was preserved and highly respected. My heart sits comfortably with this beautiful fusion. I am a happy mutt violinist. You captured the feel and the honesty and passion.

  • Is there a DVD available for this performance?

  • OH!!!!! MY JOY!!!!! To hear these master violinists playing together (I'm sure all classically trained) Eileen - Celtic master, Regina, improvisationsal jazzer, and the dearest nasty classical violinist Nadja! Whoever put these 3 together is a GENIUS. These musical cats are my violin idols! Thank you for posting this, you brilliant person! But, most importantly, thank you dear composer for visualizing this masterpiece.

  • une tour de force! Bravissimo!

  • who wrote this post-modern collage? This is not art, is marketing.

(i really love all genres of music, but this is a nonsense)

  • Nonsense comment ....i'm sure you can play better than one of the best jazz violinists and classical violinsits..??! yeah right

  • I have a masterclass with Ms. Salerno Sonnenberg coming up...this makes me scared!

  • sorry, but those of you who do now know who Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg is are truly clueless about the modern violin. She blows everybody away, including all the popular male players. Her tone is completely unique. The Naumberg Festival was significant because of her age and that it was her first time. Get to know her!!

  • the women in green has the most fantastic bow hand ever

  • personally, I think it's quite an amazing thing to see these different genres of music blended together. It's really wonderful to watch the three blend so harmoniously, and with such different styles. This really is a wonderful piece.

  • ME ENCANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SMOKING HOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!AWESOME

  • I could almost agree agree with you in a different situation, but they've taken violinists from 3 styles and I don't know Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg, but I think Regina Carter is the most important Jazz violinist since Grapelli and Eileen Ivers is the face of modern Irish/American fiddle style. So maybe they picked them for being girls but more likely they picked them for being the best...

  • Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg studied with the late Dorothy Delay, one of the greatest violin teachers of our time at Juilliard. She also won the Naumberg competition which earned her considerable prestige in the musical community. So I would agree with you in that they were chosen for being part of the highest echelon in the musical community.

  • @TheNickyTams The Best? Ha. Ha. Eileen has a very proficient style of playing ... As does Liz Carroll, but if you want someone who can hold the substance and the soul if the tunes ... go find some CCÉ videos.

  • because in the case of Nadja Salerno Sonnenberg, no guy can keep up with her.

  • This is so amazing. The more I listen the more I appreciate everything that transpires in this compostion.

  • esa si que es buena musica,,

    saludos

  • Really well done. Awesome.

  • I loved it!! Where can I get the music sheet of this piece???

  • It's available through Carl Fischer Publishers. The title is "Interplay for 3 Violins and Orchestra".

  • i think you guys are just awesome..1

  • it has this wonderfull thing to destroy the frontiers between folk, jazz and classical music and violin... I love !

  • Really impressive and beautifull

  • Wow!! As a violinist who enjoys different styles, this left me full...wonderful.

  • Just amazing!

  • This 3 violins piece is one of my FAVs. I actually recorded when it was initially aired. The entire concert was GREAT but that piece at the end was AWESOME!!! THANKS so much for posting that!

  • Nadja is my favorite violinist ever. I love her playing.

  • yes!

  • Regina's solo at 3:40 to 4:13 makes me a little sad. That's how wonderfully and beautifully she plays.

  • agreed. she is awe inspiring here...

  • I dont have a brain anymore, it just exploded. Toooo awsome!!!!

  • How does Eilieen do that little slap-trillish thing at 6:07-6:10?

    That is freaking AWESOME!

  • Justin, that's a series of rolls. A roll is like a fast slurred triplet played on the base note and note direclty below on the scale - but with a grace note added by flicking a finger above to break the first note of the triplet. So 5 notes involved in all. Eivers executes it in a way reminscent of another great player, Liz Carrol (check her out at all costs - she was a big influence on Eivers), which requires great bow control and produces a highly rhythmic effect.

  • This is soo incredible! I've seen all three of them by themselves, and they are equally as amazing individually. I wish I could have been there to witness this though! I love Eileen...she my fav. The last time I saw her, we talked for about an hour about music! She's so nice!

  • I've seen Regina Carter and Eileen Ivers. I haven't seen Nadja. It doesn't get much better than this that's for sure.

  • what is the style at 5:55??

    country??

    gypsy?

  • Celtic.

  • the three graces having seen all of them in concert individually, this was plain nirvana. only complaint was the orchestration overpowered some of the passages.

  • :DDDDD

    i was there.

  • Do any body knows how is that wonderful music called?? I ahope I can find the music to play it...Maybe!!!!!!!!

  • the thre lions

  • I THINK THIS IS AN AMAZING VIDEO...

    them passing the melodies...

the fact that two of my favorite violinists are in it...

also...did you see how Regina turned that page so fast...it was awesome

  • also, for the record, nadja is my favorite violinist of all time. i wish there were more videos of her on youtube.

  • i love how their completely different styles/traditions are showcased so well here; and yet somehow they manage to blend beautifully.

  • I've never heard anything quite like this before

  • I love this video, three great players jamming out!

  • With these three combined, it was like enjoying a three cheese pizza... with obviously the rarest types of cheese. Magnificent.

  • Not to take away from any of the other fantastic musicians but there is something about Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg. Not only as a musician but as a person. It's as if you can fall in love with her by watching her smile, listening to her talk or hearing her play. I don't know. I can't put a name to it but she is certainly special.

  • she's lovely until you meet her in person haha

  • Care to elaborate?

  • I sent you a message to greater explain, hope you got a chance to read it and understand why I said meeting her wasn't the pleasantest experience, but I wouldn't change it for the world. =]

  • can u tell me what happened??

    im pretty curious to know...

  • in short, shes a bitch.

  • christ

    thats intense

but im sure you have a reason to say so....

  • mm - I met her in person and she was super freakin cool! she has a very brisk/straight forward mannerism. very down to earth yet also very gracious. very much what I expected.

    I like her. :)

  • maybe you caught her at a good time, or in a good mood..or maybe she got laid the night before cause she didn't seem at all that way when I met her.

fuck it, she's still talented and hot and I'd still meet her a thousand more times even if meant her being a total beyotch every time lol

  • wow. loved it. regina has such depth and heart, nadja is technically brilliant, and eileen is just plain fun. wonderful!!!

  • Wonderful. Very nice piece. Three different styles.

  • straightup beautiful music!

  • OH MY GOD YES

thank you soooo much for posting.

    i was slack-jawed at regina carter's soloooo.

  • What I like is that all three seem to be having fun while they are doing this. The score by Chris Brubeck is wonderful, quite a nice amalgamation of styles here. Listening to Regina in the first section making her violin "weep" while playing a blues influenced motif was nice. Eileen's "hoedown" work was very colorful as well, she really got into it very nicely.I wondered if some of this was improvised, but nonetheless very enjoyable for one who does not listen to much "classical" music. GREAT !!

  • All this does is make me want to pick up the axe again, and get to playin'. That was great!

  • So who is this by? this is amazing.

  • Finally!! my fav triple concerto is on youtube!!!

those 3 are awesome!!!!! I love Chris's works. he's a great composer and an amazing guy!! his blending of styles here is absolutely phenomenal!! no one can do it like he can!

idk who "dfxir" is referring to but all 3 play perfectly in tune.

it may sound out of tune a little but only because of the style. tuning wise, all 3 play perfectly. there is no out of tune here.

"dacocelt", thank you soooo much for uploading it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Was that Hilary Hahn in the audience at the end?

  • Sure does look like her...did anyone else notice that Nadja seemed to have trouble getting into the groove when they were trading 4's? Kinda wierd, she's awesome and seems to assimilate other styles extremely well.

  • This is one of the best blends of styles I've ever seen/heard!! absolutely off the top amazing!!!

  • I've LOVED Salerno for DECADES... She's simply AMAZING. Period.

  • omg go!!!!!

  • go!!! go!!! woo!!!

  • Nadja is the best out of the three. All the way! Eileen and Regina are amazing but Nadja is amazinger.

  • I think that Eileen and Regina have the potential to have an eqaul technique. I think a lot of your bias is bases on the styles that each of them play.

  • Yes well its my opinion. I personaly like Nadja the best. Ive heard works done by these three alone so I know and love each ones' personal style. They all have the same potential its just that I connect more to Nadja as a musician. But I must say during this piece I loved Eileens solo better than any one elses.

  • bloody hell!

    AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HOLY COW THAT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FREAKIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have any more video from that show?!

  • Eileen is amazing. She can play anything. I cant believe what Im seeing. I guess you can guess that Im a big fan.DC

  • she can play 'anything' but in tune.

  • you are soooo mean! She's the greatest fiddler in the world!!!!!!!!!!! loserface

  • You probably don't even play violin.

  • Actually I do. How about you learn to a) speak English properly and b) know who you're talking to before you talk a bunch of crap. Loser.
