  • Cancer probably killed all those guies.

  • @1stPNPPRODUCTIONS yea hes like 80 his feet are kinda fucked up but he.said its from.the rice paddies not radation

  • @tpsossf my grandfather was in the first trench and he's fine

  • @jmort39 wow no joke?

  • @1stPNPPRODUCTIONS yea hes like 80 his feet are kinda fucked up but he. said its from. the rice paddies not radation

  • Chuck Norris ass burp

  • That dude at :36 is hyperventilating! wtf am I doing here?

  • wow americans really wanna fuck people up

  • The troops in the trenches at 7000 yrds were safe enough so long as they were kept out of the fall out zone but many of the poor souls were ordered into trenches as little as a thousand yards away. The scientists approaching in heavily sheilded vehicles after the explosion to collect recording eqipment turned back at 3000 yards because radiation was so high.

I wonder just how many of those men went on to suffer awful deaths after being used as expendable guinnea pigs.

  • @tpsossff There's many suppressed stories out of Nevada of US citizens mysteriously getting cancer during the testing days near Las Vegas. I read of one account of a small group of cheerleaders/band that were practicing outside one day during a test. Every one of them died of cancer, something about the wind blowing everything right into their path. Not one of America's finest moments.

  • @RacerXGTO

Perhaps the most famous case was John Wayne, it was said he got cancer filming The Sons of Katie Elder. No nation had clean hands at that time. Russia was just as bad and it is said the Chinese actually used humans well within the kill zones during testing.

The test shown here was a ground burst, guaranteed to create maximum radioactive fall out. A shared international history that puts the world to shame ... and all for what?

  • if there ever is a nuclear war its not going to be some fall out 3 video game we all die, end of fucking story.

  • spot the one who HASNT developed some weird and not wonderful tumours in this vid, me niether.

  • yes many of the soldiers died because of that. we lived about 150 miles away from the test site.animals died. many of the people down wind of the tests have gotten sick even now many years later. like me. my skin is falling off. we were part of an experiment to find out the effects of radiation on a population. they said it was our patriotic duty because the russians were testing, too.

  • AAAAAH,i got sand in my eyes.thats the least that can happen to you.

  • I can't believe our own military would put troops so close to a nuclear detonation on purpose.I bet half those poor bastards died from radiation

  • you better start believing that your military is the most merciless, inhuman and evil on the planet

  • @Stall0wnized Our military is the worst on the Planet?

What about all the communist countries that care nothing of their people, force them to move so they can build what ever the fuck they wan't and don't even pay them to move, like China when they built Three Gorges, what about the eastern armies who do terrorist attacks, plant bombs inside bodies to ambush soldiers, place IEDs and BEHEAD INNOCENT PEOPLE ON CAMERA.

Go fuck yourself and go fuck your beliefs. Good day, sir.

  • @YearZer02022 Nice to know you compare your military to a communist country and 3rd world countries. makes every discussion pointless, even more since youre such a well mannered person

  • @916fanatic1 they were messing with stuff they didnt understand back then...they had no idea about the after efects

  • Those "streaky things" to the left of the cloud are not tethered ballons. The military fired small rockets into the sky prior to detonation so they could see how the expanding shock wave reacted, both in speed and scope--the smoke trails will deflect once the wave hits them. This was done to measure possible air effects on airplanes and helicopters. It's all in the book "One Hundred Suns."

  • Hmm yes I'll stand up, I want to see a nuclear shock wave hit me in the face.

  • what are the streaky things to the left of the cloud from?

  • Weather balloons tethered to the ground, the streaks are the cables burning up. They were used to measure the force of the explosion.

  • cool!

  • dude.... I was always wondering.....

  • Not this particular one but part of the desert test series.

  • porter2121 is a dumb azz bigot!

  • Yeah, if he knew what blogging was, lol. He died a couple of years ago from prostate cancer so I don't think it was related to the nuke. But I still feel kind of proud to have had a family member take part in that.

  • you have a family member who was in this nuke test?

  • The real danger from radiation in these tests was not total exposure but ingestion of radioactive particles. It is possible to recieve a significant dose of radiation from a nuclear blast but unless the weapon is of extremely low yield the subject would likely die from the blast or burns if they were close enough. Many of these test subjects were exposed to fallout (as were other peole downwind) and those people did suffer some serious effects from radioactive particles emitting in their body.

  • Desert Rock V placed the troops MUCH closer.

  • My grandfather was actually at one of these excercises, in the trenches. Its a secret he almost didn't tell anyone before he died.

  • Then he didn't die in the line of duty.. shame on him!! Just jokking, I think he should have blogged about it.

  • You should drop one on G.Bush house... If someone do that I am ready to pay him up to £1000 in cash and I will shake your hand :)

  • well done my brother

  • na you just need a nuke shoved up your stupid ass while on your way to russia

  • oh how mature are you..

  • The dangers of radiation were poorly understood during this period.

If you want to see even worse tests, then check out the soviet ones...oh, nevermind the soviets buried that information a long time ago.

  • "The dangers of radiation were poorly understood during this period."

The effects of acute radiation poissoning, the link between large doses and cancer and the composition of fission products was all well understood and tested.

What we've learned since is that low radiation doses are less dangerous than we assumed(LNT is wrong, its continued use is politically motivated) and in the mind of the public there has been instilled an irrational fear of radioactivity.

  • You're probably right.

  • How wrong you are. They knew exactly how dangerous radiations is but the top brass got out of hand playing with their new toys and let nothing get in the way of "progress" if you will.

  • AHHHHH. Nothing like a nose full of radioactive dust first thing in the morning.

  • Poor marines. Low-ranking personnel such as these were often used as guinea pigs in the name of pride and honor of serving their country.

  • That is so true. I read several book about how these guys were used at Camp Desert Rock as well as out in the Pacific Islands. Thousands of men were exposed to radiation as a result.

  • Every time you go on an airplane your exposed to unnatural amounts of radiation.

  • i didn't know that. good thing i'm not a frequent flier.

  • Damn, BOC! How does the old corn hole feel after getting bombed directly off the board?

  • that was dope those marines have balls for standing there

  • Did not they take the influence of radioactive rays?

  • some of them actually died from radiation

  • i bet errbody of them died of radiation

  • i bet errbody of them died of radiation

  • i bet errbody of them died of radiation

  • i bet errbody of them died of radiation

  • "some of them actually died from radiation"

Quit talking out of your ass. The largest exposure was ~10 rem which causes no measurable health effects and a tiny increase in cancer risk; this is ~50 times less than a dose that causes accute radiation poissoning.

  • nuclear war would look sooooo kool what a awsome way to die

  • You're a fucking idiot and should hope it never comes to that.

  • years later, i'm sure one of them grew an extra toe

  • guys if we have a nuclear war we are dead no seriusly we gotta prevent

  • @wow4life56 I'm an Infantry soldier no bullshit....We would not be dead email and maybe I'll cough up some information.

  • Zero Raise and breath in all that Radioactive Dust you Guinea Pigs....Unbelievable --shows the intelligence of our Government even then...Raise and FREE CANCER..LUEKEMIA ECT ECT!!!

  • what are those lines to the left of the mushroom???

  • It's where the explosion splits the earths crust, pressure then sucks 'dust' out of the fissure. Pretty cool huh :D

  • that cannot possibly be it, lol the lines are there before the explosion, look closely at 0:07. they are just illuminaed by the explsin afterwards

  • they are smoke rockets so they can see how the bomb affects the surrounding air

  • oh that explains it, thanks

  • That is correct. You see the trails of these rockets in many of the tests.

  • well I'm the son of one that was there. he died in the 80s of cancer. Got a letter after from Ronald Reagan saying sorry.(lmao) But remember these were and are proud men. Old soldiers never died they just fade away.

  • ye i adgree the US are full of jews but not the germans they rock did bloody good in the war for just 1 country

  • what the hell are you smoking?

  • Those people won't have kids anymore. They were trick by governments as they let themselves become guinea pigs.

  • One witness of an atom test said he had his hands over his eyes and he could see the bones in his hands like he was looking at an XRay.

They had little idea of the effects of radiation on the human body.

  • everyone there was a test subject for radiation. sad shit.

  • "Look daddy glows in the dark" random child.

"Son, he's not your daddy" Forces mom.

    LOLZ

  • No. They were told to stand up after the flash had disipated. But yes I have read stories from the Veterans tht they said yes it did burn them, a little like a sun burn.

  • wouldnt the flash thing burn them?

i think they forgot to put on some safety equipment ._.

  • ya but it was the first time an atomic bomb being bombed ever, i think they didnt no

  • They did this shit to my Grandfather. It's crazy!

  • I work with vets and out of 250,000 men envolved the Department of Veterans Affairs have given only about 2300 men service connection for there medical problems, the american people should be ashamed

  • They needed haz-mat suits for this exercise

  • I love when the shockwave comes

  • What are those lines to the left of the mushroom? They bug me because i dont have a clue what they are

  • smoke rockets used to measure air movement

  • Very observant. I've watched many videos like this and never even noticed those lines, too focused on the blast I guess.

  • holllllllllllly crap!

  • It's all interesting to watch until the ashes of death fall from the sky...

  • and all those fools died a radioative death.

  • oh my good lord what a buch of idiots they probably killed a couple of people

  • "Oh my good lord" well put, I laughed hard at that comment and spat my tea out on my trousers.

  • holy crap i dont remember saying that lol

  • good
