Tintin was good but too many roots from Williams' other scores. How do you not list The Skin I Live In ost in that list. Alberto Inglesias deserves the Oscar hands down.
@tigemata Agreed. And there are a couple of tracks in the movie I can't place. One that sounds like Bowie, but not exactly. And then the one at the end where all the traitors are killed. Driving me nuts because the only references to the music from the movie, at least what I've found thus far, are the blasted constant references to Iglesias' score. Zzzzzzzz.
I watched the latest Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy film several days ago and couldn't help thinking that there was something in this musical score that reminded me of another film. Finally it registered. Check out the similarity between this beautiful piece of music and the love scene score in the original Spartacus film. I wonder if there was deliberate intent?
@chubattack I honestly think it is unintentional. This piece of work by Alberto Iglesias sounds very "him". Go take a look to his music for "Talk to her" or "The Constant Gardener".
By the way, I can see an Oscar nom in the horizon.
That ending scene, best ever

1. The Artist
2. Adventures of Tintin
3. Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
4. Hugo
5. War Horse
Gee, this is an amazing year of soundtracks yet again. Composers are on a roll, since 2008!

The trailer music by Danny Elfman is better.

@tigemata Nah, just because it was more distinct doesn't make it better

@chubattack I thought the same thIng only I was mentally comparing the soundtrack to that of Full Metal Jacket, another film by Kubrick.

This film was literally the best film i have seen in a LONG time. The plot was so well woven together and so very subtle.. It was amazing.

It's really very good, but the soundtrack from Almodovar's movie (The Skin I live in) composed too by Alberto Iglesias is much better.
