@Gmoney400 My 97 had that same 3 speed auto (31TH) from the factory.. Beat on daily.. shifted manually and all.. tried to blow it up so i could swap to a manual.. it took 145,000 miles of constant abuse and only the torque converter went... any automatic transmission needs regular service.

Chrysler rates it at 230hp.. oddly though some have been dyno'd bone stock to have even more than that ... at the wheels no less.. if it were so weak.. then why would Chrysler offer upgrades up to 365whp with a warranty?

Luckily I was fortunate enough to have not had to own one. Our family had a neon, and yes; it was indeed, junk. It's amazing how people wonder why Chrysler is doing so poorly. And they've made no effort in trying to restructure and gain sales rates back, despite the fact that they only exist due to the "generosity" of American and Canadian taxpayers
And I hate Toyotas too, by the way. they've been skimping out on quality for the last ten years- a recall was bound to happen.

i love my little neon...not an srt or anything close to fast,but its fun and handles kinda like a gokart!!
it makes mince meat out of the v6 camaros around my town.
its an 05 se,2.0,msd pack,ngk plugs,forgot what computer,k&n air,and kicker audio...in the back...stock in the front.
HIGHLY recommend it,10X better than the challenger or charger!!!!!

A stock srt 4 would be a regular rt ..doge just decide to put a turbo on it and fix the suspention to call it a srt4..for example honda with the mugen si which has the same engine as a regular si just mugen parts bigger exuast and more stonger interals. what if they decide to put a stock turbo?? My integr ias stock as far as no head or block work just a tune and turbo and it still bets srt4 so it not fully modded

The wrx are most expensive i said bang for the bucks. On a 1/4 mile the neon probably win, on a track the wrx win but it still wrx are expensive and the 2.4 turbo is reliable and have much possibility of mods. And the 230 whp are many time dyno proven.

Yea that's a bit of a down side. But I live in Iowa and we get some hellish snow storms so I like having a FWD car. I drove past a Mustang the other day and drove right through the snow while he was spinning his tires. Nothing against Mustangs. I love those cars! Their beautiful. And fast. I am just glad I have a FWD car around this time of the year. :D
