He wrestled in Mid-South, Memphis, and World Class throughout the 70s and early 80s before joining the WWF circa 83-84 and staying until the late 80s, making a comeback in the early 90s. He feuded greats such as Jake the Snake, Hogan, Andre, and Undertaker during these years. Then he wrestled for about a year in WCW, and still gets called up on occasion today. If that's not a legend, I don't know what is.

Wrestling in the early 90's actually blew chunks. Stupid gimmicks saturated the WWE. Tugboat/IRS//Doink/Mountie/The Model. Absolutely horrible and as a result a premium was put on the quality of the gimmick vs. the quality of the wrestler. I stopped watching good wrestlers lose to gimmicks and switched to WCW. . Vince went the wrong way then and should have went more with what you bring to the ring. Luckily for them they turned it around in the late 90's when WCW was in its twilight.
