Difference is, all of the Gorma monsters had them from the start, including Pursehead who was going to use his but the Dairangers killed him before he pulled off the nub.

Gingaman was the same. Awesome Ranger battles but mecha would consist of "form Gingaoh use sword slash".
Yup. But the moron who posted this video doesn't care since "wah! zord battles are too short". Even in the 80's shows, they tended to be this short. The fact that dairanger's morphed battles blew everthing PR has ever done out of the water doesn't matter. Whatever he can go fuck himself.
I'd blame Dairenou (and the rest of the Chi Beasts) lack of interesting weaponry. Other than the Daioken and the Dai Javelin (only used in Dairanger movie), the only special attack the mecha had was..... a mist.
On the other extreme Gaoranger threw most of its budget into the power animals. There the Ranger battles would consist of punching the monster for one minutes and then using the group weapon but the mecha battles would last 5-7 minutes with them going through 2-3 mecha combinations per battle.
Or you'd get something like Jetman or Zyuranger which would vary.
Wait, the growth bombs were from Dairangers and not an american Invention for MMPR? God that explanes alot
