Oprah999, I've also noticed your one-dimensional, childish rants. Your comments, masquerading as a critique of art, are really just a very transparent attempt to hide your personal animosity. The unsophisticated and one-dimensional nature of your attack, lingers in stark contrast to the multi-dimensional and deeply spiritual renderings that represent Mr. Hart's vast body of work. You expose yourself as an individual with an agenda. You are completely without credibility.
Capitalexpressions-Thank-you for posting the local footage of Hart working on the sculpture. It was a special treat to see the soldier interviewed and Hart's humble working conditions in D.C.
Oprah999-you prove the point that The Three Soldiers is still controversial 26 years later. To your issues: "Melodramatic Cliche" no war sculpture before this represented anything other than victory so there is nothing cliche about the work and as the soldiers exhibit subtle emotions - nothing melodramatic. What Mr. Hart was paid for two years of forming this clay is unimportant, but I will assure you that Hart's wealth came from private collectors not public commissions. Philip Allen Director
Oprah999 - I've been on 5 related videos today and found your inappropriate and unqualified vitriol spewed on all of them. Please show the maturity and enlightenment of someone who understands that art speaks in many forms and that the Veterans of the Vietnam War, have chosen how they would like to be represented. It is not for you, or I, to say. History and the American people have already judged the talent, heart and contributions of Mr. Hart and the vote is overwhelmingly positive.
