  • your very sweet...

i am working on Mission in the Rain....

    you stopped posting?

  • What a great job brother; very difficult tune. I bought a video recently with a method of playing it (I haven't even attempted it yet, LOL); your version sounds great. I'm inspired by you again! Keep the faith.

  • Great! Thank you.

  • I've been looking at other peoples renditions of this song and I think yours' is the most accurate.GREAT JOB! Can you post a slower more instructional version so the rest of us can learn it?

  • I could and I will, it may be a while though (several months) because I'm working on some other stuff right now...I'll let you know when its out there...

  • dude that would be SOOOOO awesome if you do that. i subscribed mostly just for that (and because you are a kick ass guitarist anyway) so im looking forward to it.

  • It'a a 5 stars from me John,great version!

  • grat job This instrumental is played in open E tuning (E B E G# B E). Rather than tuning the 3rd, 4th and 5th strings up (which can be really stressful on the neck), you can tune down to open D (D A D F# A D) and capo at the second fret.

  • I took the pattern straight out of a guitar magazine 15 years ago but neve was able to stick to the original pattern so I just play it as hear it. Low to high, the tuning is DADF#AD (capo at 2nd for EBEG#BE). From standard tuning, leave the 4th and 5th stings alone (the A and D), and drop the 6, 2, and 1 a whole tone and the G a half-tone to F#...

  • would love to know what fingerpicking style u are using for this. is it a consistent pattern? also open d tuning, is the just dropping the bass e down to an e or are you dropping other strings as well??

  • Thanks... i did it in open D tuning. It should be capoed at the 4th fret (the way I tuned it). I think they did an open E tuning capoed at the second fret.

  • Nice Job! What tuning are you in? This is one my favorites as well. Thanks!!
