  • Green bottle blues are harmless. You are at no risk handling her other than being allergic, otherwise her/his venom is harmless to humans. I'm seventeen and have handled many tarantulas including my own...

  • i have a green bottle blue, and she is just really random, sometimes she doesnt care if you prod her, sometimes she is jumpy, and other times she just spends all day webbing. lol im to nervous to hadle her though.. i want to so bad, but i dont want to freak out and hurt her shes my baby i named her Quorra

  • My GBB doesnt even move :(

  • JEALOUSY!!!!!!! I want a Green Bottle Blue so badly, but I know if I got one I couldn't help but want to handle it frequently. And the only one I've seen in person I saw at a pet store yesterday, and pardon my french, but he seemed like a mean little fucker. I also haven't ever had the experience of having hairs flicked at me, much less bit, and from what I heard at the pet shop the beautiful foul tempered lil guy likes to do that a lot. Damn shame too :(

  • wow...the song is so soothing....kinda nice to put this song while showing a beautiful tarantula.

  • I WANT ONE SO BAD!! I WANT A ROSEBUD!! THERE SO AWESOME

  • what's the name of that song

  • i want one

  • i want onw

  • your just a puss

  • i call this force handling myself if i try to handle a t and it doesnt want to come in my hand i leave it alone not force it on my hand

  • idk why you would say i dont recomend handling tarantulas....alot of them are very nice and are VERY easy to hand like rose hairs, and mexican red knees they RARELY ever bite you.... but if your talking about blondies, and blue cobalts then fuck that those should never be handled.....but your just like scareing people there not bad at all to hold there nice, soft, and cuddly lol

  • @playwithme30 I don't intend to scare anyone. It's just that I do not want people who do not really know what they are doing to get hurt (and hurt the Ts in the process). No matter how docile, any T can bite and deliver venom.

In fact, when it comes to handling, I can't care less about the handler (if you do it, you have to assume you are putting yourself at risk). I am a lot more concerned when some idiots wanting to swell manhood, do it wrongly, panic then fling the poor T across the room.

  • @testdasi yea true true but the bites arent deadly (with some small exceptions)

  • @playwithme30 ye ata zoo in england they got out a chile rose which isnt dangerous and let me hold it and i wass 8 years old

  • @TINGShappen yea those kinds are like the least dangerous....i mean its close but yea

  • @playwithme30 i held my cobalt she was in a good mood and i couldnt resist

  • youre fat

  • handling ts isnt that dangerous. stop trying to big yourself.

  • I sleep with my GBB

  • Dance of the green bottle blue! Love the vid, love the music, love the T. Beautiful!!!

  • Your skin is too warm for it.

  • damn!

  • i like your warnings :D so it means you just wants the best for the spider lovers :D but i am 16 and i have a tarrantula just like yours and i play with her in every week or when i am in the mood xd and she likes me :D:D:D she has never bitten me :D:D

  • Pretty T!

  • it must be warm in that room, he is movin so slow

  • hey in video description u say dont hold a tarantula if ur under 18 i hold my 3 all the time and im 13

  • @stingsandbites6

Yeah, because it can be dangerous.

    Btw, I'm 13 too :P

  • hello testdasi! mind if i ask on how you tame your gbb quite a bit?

  • the music keeps em chill ; ) but seriously is this type of tarantula usually agressive? cuz i have a rosehair and its pretty chill and easy to handle i dont take so many precautions like this vid shows

  • Just as a general rule...dont stick your hand in a tarantula cage with a baboon T. lol they are amazing creatures but for some reason they are PURE EVIL. There are obviously exceptions but at LEAST 8 out of 10 owners of them will say they are agressive and suggest that you dont handle them. I learned the hard way when i was new to T's why OBT's are also called "Orange Bitey Things" haha My pal had a starburst baboon T and asked me to pet her....who thinks that was a good idea?

  • ur a pussy

  • Fascinating yet terrifying LOL

  • Put some socks on

  • wow he/she is a beauty!! i cant wait till my gbb grow i hope its a girl =]

  • beautiful GBB is this a male or a female...?

  • That's incredible! if all spiders would be like that i wouldn't fear them

  • ye i no lol

  • ha i didnt say it was one i was comparasing them both if yu force sank they bite jog on

  • 1. Tarantulas are not like dogs.

    2. I knew what I was doing. I have handled more defensive species.

    3. Someone who says something despite not really knowing what he/she is talking about is the idiot.

  • Im thinking of getting a gbb are they nervous?

  • Yes, they are. Mine was a little unpredictable at times. Sometimes a slight touch sent her darting into her web hide. Sometimes she just ignored it. And from what I knew, GBB tends to flick very itchy hair.

  • Oh well, i'll still handle it lol

  • are those type of tarantulas venemous

  • @kingofgrime1 to animals they are. for humans only when you are allergic to their venom which can end in an anaphilactic shock. otherwise it just hurts

  • all spider are venomous. just depending on the potency of the venom.

  • @kingofgrime1

    All T's are.

  • @testdasi

naaah its not that nervous man....just the hairs..thats all...and not that often...its a good tar ^^

  • WoW, great video..I'm thinking about getting a GBB...I've read mixed reviews about them being aggressive and others being calm (like yours seems to be!)

They are SOOOOO pretty, I LOVE the video in HD..the details/vid quality are great!

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for the compliment. ^_^

GBB is in no way aggressive. It can be defensive if you invade its territory. It can even try to bite you if it thinks you are food but I have seen the real aggressive stuffs and GBB is definitely not one of those.

Watch my other handling vid. I have some good tips in it. YMMV. No guarantee that it will work for you but it works like a charm for me, even with bite-first-talk-later species like H. gigas.

  • Oh, and I do NOT recommend handling in any way. My vids were more meant to show how gentle T's can be. Handling T's will not improve your mojo or manhood. In fact, it's a pretty dumb thing to do, kinda similar to sky diving or bungee jumping. And yes, I'm dumb. :D

  • Test makes an extremely valid point about taking a Green Bottle out of it's enclosure before handling. They tend to be the most defensive/aggressive in their little web-tunnel.

I'd have to disagree a little with the speed of a GBB as it comes to in the web, but outside of the web, or in non-defensive situations they do tend to be slower like most new worlds. My Sing blue and Purple Trees are almost always FAST. My Zebra is capable of teleporting rather effectively but doesn't always.

  • why ur tarantula is so slow and lazy? my greenbottle blue tarantula is really fast, he's sometimes agressive, he's the same size but i didnt have the opportunity to hold him, im scared because he runs really fast, so im afraid he might get away. maybe it depends on the tarantula's character. lol only when i touch it with the stick he stands up and bites the stick, so i consider myself not to try taking up on my hands lol.

  • GBB is not really that fast, to be honest. Yes, they can be quite fast but the speed is not near teleportation (e.g. pokies or OBT or blue fangs or etc.)

I have found getting my T's out of the enclosure helps keep them relatively less defensive, compared to inside their territories. And I tested all the T's before handling (notice the wide transparent plastic container I put on top of the T and move around before handling? - if the T is too skittish or defensive then that's it for the day).

  • And stay calm is extremely important. When I handled my H. gigas, I was sweating a lot due to adrenaline rush but I kept myself very calm. Jerky/sudden/indecisive motion = invitation for bite.

  • Are there any harmless tarantulas? Non-venomous? Can you keep one of these in the house? Like a pet? Are they unpredictable? I find them cute and I may want to get one

  • yes so what is the big deal with my mexican red knee tarantula

  • im 15 i handled these b4..

  • i'm 12 and handle my mexican red knee occasionally but your right if you do handle your tarantula it is at your own risk and you have to be very carfell

  • oh my god a MEXICAN RED KNEE =O.

  • whoa youve handled a gbb your nuts anything else majorly mad maybe a curly hair or a pokie

  • lol they really rnt that crazy

  • My spider last night went walking on the ceiling of the terrarium and putted its fangs through it, does he think hes some kind of hero? because once it was hanging in the ceiling with its fangs

  • It's trying to get out! :D

  • Well, shes just trying to get used to her new terrarium ( i guess )

  • aka the room?

  • woow!!, does all tarantulas can climb all surfaces? or just the tree-living ones?

  • actully, i got bite by my juv pocilotheria fascitar right on the finger, this happend 2 days ago when i come back from the pub and thoght it was clever to hold it, it slowly dug its fangs in and i watched it do it and to my amazement nothing happend, it was cleary a dry bite and the next day could barely feel a thing, lucky me, learnt my lesson.

  • Yup, lucky indeed. Alcohol + handling + pokie = inviting something terrible to happen. :D But on the bright side, alcohol does seem to help when you are already bitten and screaming in pain. :D

  • Dude green bottle blues arent that agressive or venomous

  • Actually, theyre nice and furry. If you treat them the right way ofcourse.

  • ok..my a.geniculata is not agresive..but this is cyano..i don't know..and im slow but no so much

  • My 7" A. geniculata flicks a lot of hair and somehow prefers to bite roaches and not my fingers. My C. cyano is extremely mellow. Never flick any hair or bite but will dig out a burrowing B. dubia. But from what I know, that's not common (the never flick hair/bite part).

  • you are so slow !!! do you afraid of she? sorry for my bad english

  • My slow moving is to calm the Tarantula. Jerking and sudden movements invite bites. I was more afraid of handling my H. gigas (and I did :D)

  • Omg

  • why?

  • I hate the way they can tell objects apart from skin and hesitate to be handled.

  • Rub some substrate on your hand before handling! The clean type! Unless you want some serious itch, of course. ^_^

  • lol, will try that next time

  • nice!, its really beautiful, i live in venezuela and i had the chance to see this kind of spider in its natural enviroment, they are wonderful

  • Very rare for a GBB to be that calm.

  • It's really in the handling techniques.

  • They are not venomus ¬_¬. If anything it would be an Alergic reaction. Not venum

  • All Tarantulas are venomous, just that some are more dangerous than the rest.

  • The only sort of 'venom' is a one that numbs the victim. Its not actualy a poison or a venom

  • That, by definition, is a venom! And it doesn't just numb, it does hurt more than being pricked by a needle.

  • From what I understand it's sort of like a bee sting.

  • beign bite by a pokie will hurt like a son of a bitch your hand will swell up and be stiff for a few hours and u will have excrutiating pain

  • Nice rough way of describing a mild bite from a pokie. LOL! That's really a mild bite. A serious one will send you to the ER.

  • true an adult pokie bite would hurt like a bitch i only been bitten by my 1.25' P.pedersini

  • nice vid

  • Are GBBs generally docile? She's a real sweetie. :D

  • It depends on the specimen and the experience of the keeper. GBB is known to be a serious hair flicker. But if you approach it correctly, it's as calm as anything.

  • Is it's behavior similar to the mexican red rump?

  • GBBs temperment is highly different from a b. vagans. red rumps are skittish to nervous, i believe GBBs are somewhat defensive to aggressive. not too sure about that but i would say 100% its easier to handle a red rump.

  • umm this doesnt have much to do with the videos but i was wondering,do you sell grammostola aureostriatas? if so how much would a 1-2 inch female be from you?

  • No, I don't. Sorry.

  • How old is she?

  • It's hard to say. Usually we don't "age" a Tarantula but rather "size" it. It's because many factors affect the grow rate of a Tarantula so same age, one may be mature while the other is not.

Her leg span is around 4.5". My guess is that she's about 2-3 years old. Probably equivalent to 10-15 years old in human age.

  • very true, really hard to "age" a T unless you had it from a sling, even then its difficult. Lol she's Sooo sweet, i wont even try with mine, she's labeled "look but no touchy!"

  • I am determined to get over my fear of tarantulas...not really working out so well....music kind of scared me

  • I just changed the music to something more gentle.

Beethoven's Symphony No.5 has always been one of my favorite but I understand some people may find it too heavy. I switched to another Beethoven's piece but it's on piano with a smooth and lighter melody.

Youtube takes time to process so the change should be done in 2-3 hours.

  • haha she doesnt like the feel of ur hand.

she keeps evading it. in the begning

she is very lightfooted and gentle

from how small did u raise her?

i cant wait to get my sling

  • I didn't raise her from a sling. When I got her, she doesn't have sling color anymore.

  • Thanks guys. She is one of the sweetest ever. ^_^

  • nice T man : )

  • nice video man beautiful Green Bottle Blue she is just great looking those colors are just awsome
