You can just use velocity packets in Vegas to speed up the entire thing

right click the raw video and i think it's under packets, check velocity

He means 'Video Envelopes', click on a clip of video in vegas, and on the menu bar at the top click 'Insert > Video Envelopes > Event Velocity'. A little green line will appear on the selected clip that you can drag up and down, dragging it upwards speeds the clip up and dragging down does the opposite.

After you've sped it up some, there will be a little arrow on the clip, simply shorten the clip to this arrow and you're done! :)
