I totally agree with what you said about texture. My sister and I have the same "type" of curls but our "texture" couldn't be more different. Her hair is very fine and shiny, while mine is drier and a bit spongy. That's why it's good to learn your hair and not worry so much about the type of curl pattern. If I had to give your hair a type, I'd say it was type BEAUTIFUL....but no really I'd say it's more 3c than 4a/4b because of the texture when it was wet.
At last I have found someone on here with the same hair type as my 7 yr old. Alot of ppl will be amazed by ur hair but I have to deal with that everyday. She gets sooo much amazing complements when I let her wear it down and ppl asking if it is all her's lol. Tips on how to keep her ends moisturised will be great her ends get soo dry until I have to have them trimmed to keep the hair looking healthly.
This gives me hope.... I have very kinky,thick and coarse hair that is full shoulder length. I was debating whether or not it was even worth attempting to try and grow it super long as I always assumed that it wouldn't grow as long as yours is. Im really thinking about heat training to wear my hair like this. At least I will blow dry my hair on wash days because I love long hair and I'm not really a fan of the 75-90% shrunken natural hair. I'm transitionining so I'm really excited to see how much shrinkage I'll get.

Like I previously said your hair was a 3c, but I change my mind. Also you are not a 4a either. Your hair curl/coil/wave are WAY too big to be in the 4 category, but too wavy to be in the 3 category...You don't fall into any category. You do ave a z pattern so I guess that would be 4, but it is def not 4a, 4b, or 4c... And don't be offended but your features and hair look like people who have Seminole Indian/native mixed in their bloodline

lol. the top bang area of my hair look just like yours. No shrinkage . nothing. Ive been told that it was scab hair and i should cut it but i dont really use heat and its still growing that way. Gorgeous hair yes! It is unique. It reminds me of CoilsKinksCurls' hair. (Never could classify her hair but when I think of it...) It's afro puff but all the texture is wavy and has no coil or curl, very unique and reminds me of the pictures of wool I see on Google and Bing. I seriously don't know how to classify your hair! It's like a type 2 wave with serious puff! It turns Andre's typing system on it's head! :D
thats how my hair is. when wet you can see curls or waves, but when dry its straight, and a little shrunken, but as longer, its lengther when dry, but just wirer, and no curls..coarse..yes

@josetth When looking "European" became the standard of beauty. Actually, I should say that it was when race was invented and whites became superior to blacks. Of course that 's not when the first relaxer was invented, but we were on our way.

@josetth We forgot how to take proper care of kinky hair, therefore, it ddnt grow, that caused us to envy what is called today "good hair", and then black women (& a few black men) ran to the perms & relaxers hoping to get some of that "good hair". lolz
I'm so gladd black women are embracing their BEAUTIFUL natural hair, beleive it or not the relaxer is a turn off to many men.

lol. the top bang area of my hair look just like yours. No shrinkage . nothing. Ive been told that it was scab hair and i should cut it but i dont really use heat and its still growing that way. The rest of my hair is curly but now that i see this vid i feel much better about my little foreign patch of hair!

thanks for that cuz my hair is a similar texture and since ive gone natural ive been trying to work wit it at this shorter length because i didnt know if icould ever get back the length i once had since my hair was course and wouldnt hold its curls. this is a definite confidence booster and your hair is gorgeous

Gorgeous hair yes! It is unique. It reminds me of CoilsKinksCurls' hair. (Never could classify her hair but when I think of it...) It's afro puff but all the texture is wavy and has no coil or curl, very unique and reminds me of the pictures of wool I see on Google and Bing. I seriously don't know how to classify your hair! It's like a type 2 wave with serious puff! It turns Andre's typing system on it's head! :D

thats how my hair is. when wet you can see curls or waves, but when dry its straight, and a little shrunken, but as longer, its lengther when dry, but just wirer, and no curls..coarse..yes

@qmjenkins You know I was really interested in proving this theory for myself, I was just told by the school that I got my braiding licensce from that nutrition plays a really large role in the health of your hair. Fruits and vegtables mainly.

When I first watched this video I thought your hair is kinky enough to be in the 4 category... but after watching it a few times now I just can say that your hair is soooo UNIQUE and it does not fall in any existing category. This is something new here. lol At least I have never seen hair that looks like yours unmanipulated.

Chime, do you think your hair texture changed as you hair got longer and thicker? Your hair is gorgeous, it is course but it has a wave versus a curl which seems to combat shrinkage and tangles. Its beautiful and it defies the hair typing system.
