LP stands for Long play in video use. Useful for getting more video on what ever medium you are saving it to, in this case an SD card, but you do loose quality. You did a very good job reviewing this, thank you. I'm a professional photographer myself, and was looking for a simple Point & Click for my daughter. This has some camera has some good review, so I think this may be the one.
