Majority od people buy minis is due to style over substance. Buy the car and keep it as long as your warranty is still active. This is not a Japanese car where you can keep 10 plus years or over 100, 000 miles. It's BMW ...what do u expect?

How could Top Gear say the door was on the wrong side? If someone as tall as me was driving, and there were two passengers, there's no way the back seat passenger would get behind me. I think it's pretty standard that people pile into a car passenger-side first.

it's pretty ood. my backseat passengers appreciate the extra space and everyone admires the indivuality of the 'chocolate world' interior! it's easy to drive, you only notice it's longer that the original new mini when you are reverse parking. and appart for a random squeek - probably from the rear seats - no complaints!

i'm not familiar with the Cadillac but the Mini's are great driver's cars. I recommend the Cooper, although only go for the Clubman version if you really need the extra space!

I have a Hot Orange Mini One Convertible and am swapping it in July...considering a Clubman in Hot Chocolate with black roof / rear frame. Would you recomend????

ooo...I like the Hot Orange! I think they should do the Clubman in that colour, but they don't. Yes, we have the Clubman in Hot Chocolate with the black roof - obviously I think that's the best colour combo! But do get the Chocolate World interior too - that really finishes it off. Although I'll confess that sometimes I miss the brightness of our Yellow Mini!

they built the body for left-hand-drive countries, so for us rather than openning on the sidewalk side of the car it's on the road side. some reviewers are arguing - perhaps rightly - that makes it dangerous if you're using it to let children in and out of the car. mini say it was too expensive to retool put it on the other side for the few right-hand-drive countries.
