I always wonder why people feel the need to have answers to every question they have about the world/universe. It depends a lot of the place you are living in, like in smaller cities you can see a lot of bad reactions, but for example Prag is better. In Prag or Brno it is really OK to wear proper hijab, but with niqab it can be also hard, but if you are going out with your husband, usually they dont do anything (but not in small towns).

@DBH107 one of the origins of a man having multiple wives is because in wartimes, women would far outnumber the men since all the men were fighting in the war, or had been killed. since up until recent history, in all cultures of course, women HAD to be married. well, if there weren't enough men for a single husband/wife relationship, then how could each woman get married and be supported instead of dying of starvation? a man having multiple wives. this practice grew out of necessity

@DBH107 this is very true. and yes, Judaism definitely has advance, at least in their practices. but advancing into the modern age takes time. it's happening already anyway. most Muslim women nowadays only wear hijab. the only reason Western people think differently is because when the Taliban held power in Afghanistan, they passed a law saying all women had to wear the burqa in public. now that they're not in power, most women don't.

It depends a lot of the place you are living in, like in smaller cities you can see a lot of bad reactions, but for example Prag is better. In Prag or Brno it is really OK to wear proper hijab, but with niqab it can be also hard, but if you are going out with your husband, usually they dont do anything (but not in small towns).

A policeman recently in Australia was dragged to court for requesting to look at the face of a woman wearing a Burqa just because he wanted to be sure who he was talking to when he pulled her car over. Just remember that many years ago women fought for the right to have the freedoms enjoyed by us today. We can vote and follow dreams and have careers. Modesty is a great value, but it seems like you have taken it a bit too far. If it makes you strong to go against the stream - then don't complain when people make fun of you. When you dress like this - people will associate you with Islam extremists; that are presently engaged in many immoral acts around the world. In West, people have one wife but also lovers... so if I will have to choose to have another wife in house (who helps you with everything) and a lover (who just collect money from your husby) then better to have a wife. @DBH107 one of the origins of a man having multiple wives is because in wartimes, women would far outnumber the men since all the men were fighting in the war, or had been killed. since up until recent history, in all cultures of course, women HAD to be married. well, if there weren't enough men for a single husband/wife relationship, then how could each woman get married and be supported instead of dying of starvation? a man having multiple wives. this practice grew out of necessity

Judaism was also a chauvinist, violent religion - in biblical times, but they have advanced. Islam which is a relatively new religion is the most back ward and oppressive religion.

@DBH107 this is very true. and yes, Judaism definitely has advance, at least in their practices. but advancing into the modern age takes time. it's happening already anyway. most Muslim women nowadays only wear hijab. the only reason Western people think differently is because when the Taliban held power in Afghanistan, they passed a law saying all women had to wear the burqa in public. now that they're not in power, most women don't.

@DBH107 [continuing my comment] even though most Muslim women choose not to wear it, i think that if a woman DOES want to, she should be able to. this so-called Democratic society we live in that believes in freedom of religion and supposedly enforces it is now persecuting a woman's right to dress how she wants. yes, safety wise, burqa's can be a problem such as in airports where identification is a must. but out in the public i see no reason to ban the wearing of it. that's just my opinion
