amazing!!!! truly amazing.....not all the dried food.....i mean amazing that a woman can do all that....aren't you afraid that other women might not like you for doing all this? also you could get kicked out of the women's club...i showed this vid to my wife and she didn't talk to me for 3 days, then she told me if i wanted all this done, it would be either this or sex, of course i can live without food....so much for my hopes to get some home dried fruits, back to buying instead...
good camera following...the first couple videos were a little too dark. But now, everything looks great. This is so informative...thank you! Wish you were my next door neighbor! :) trying this, this week!
We have an Excaliber 3900 and these videos are proving invaluable. Thank you so much for your time and effort to do these. I've done dehydrating in years gone by but I'm still learning a ton from your videos.
Yes you can dehydrate meat and fish. However, for long term storage it is not recommended unless you keep the dehydrated meat frozen. If you want to store meat in your pantry for long term I would suggest commercial freeze dried the storage life is up to 15 years. Honeyville Grains just added freeze dried beef to their web site. If you type in D2store in the coupon section you will get 5% off your order.
I purchase all my powdered eggs, butter, cheese, and grains from them. Honeyville's shipping is only 4.49 no matter how big the order. Hope I have helped. Tammy
Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I have a large food storage and I use these items stored everyday. My grocery bill is a faction of what most people spend. I can't stress enough how important storage is, pass it on and thanks. Tammy
Please go to our web site Dehydrate2store and enter our free give away of a
9 tray Excalibur Dehydrator. All entries must be in by Dec.21, 2009 we will video tape the drawing. Also, you will find many more video, tips and recipes so spread the word and tell your friends. Good luck and Merry Christmas to all. Tammy
i do fruits and dehydrate them and i also stock up on canned goods. vegetables at aldi's u can get veggies 30 cents/can pasta tomato sauces and dried beans powder milk cereal and we have a well so i think the water is ok
Quick question, if you were to cut the corner off of a bag and used that to pipe your mixture in strips onto the sheets, would that make them easier to store in jars?
thank you for the fruit roll up instructions. I have never had any success. I now have a new path. I think I will take your advice and use the cooked method.
Your presentation is fantastic -- very professional and appealing. And, it's so good to see what these things look like in their dried state and re-hydrated.
It's just amazing to me how fresh everything looks re-hyrdated. I'm mainly a canner when it comes to preserving, but I'm definitely going to do more dehydrating from now on! Just the saving of storage space alone is good incentive!
This is so amazing! The finished food looks so much better than store bought. Great job.

Very nice videos. :-) I heard that you shouldn't use an oxygen pack for sugar or it will turn the sugar to a brick.

If you were to dehydrate your own eggs, do you dehydrate them raw since you cook them before eating anyway?

@tommy0135 I saw a different video & she scrambled the eggs first then dehydrated.

That's a great idea. Or you can use a pastry bag. I was on vacation that is why it took me so long to reply.
Thank you for watching and I will give that a try.
