Now as an adult, he's so calm, he just sits in my lap and I clip his nails with no problem. He doesn't even need the peanut butter anymore but I do give him a treat when we're finished.

That's right, he just had its nails cutt off twice or thrice in life - nowadays, he's an adult, so, he walks on the streets and has their nails "polish" by the floor. Now I have another shiba and she never had their nails cutt off. ;-)
@rainbowgirl678 Well you kind of have to do it ;) Or else the nails become too long, and it becomes painful for the dog to walk einstein. If you know you can't do it, then just take you're pets to a groomers, but you can't just "not do it," as you put it.

It sounded like they were trying to murder him, and he was fine. my shiba is so much like a cat and screams bloody murder when we give her a bath. I have to hold her to my chest in a bathing suit while we wash her outside, otherwise she won't be calm enough to stay. when we cut her nails, one person has to hold her face into their chest so she won't freak out as much. it's so tricky to touch their feet!

Are you a guy? Because if you are then it is hard to understand. When the female is a virgin, she will cry hard and she was be depressed for many days. She wills suffer for birth and she will suffer when her puppies are taken from her. This will make her very sad and quiet. If you want a female for your male, I would go to someone with a female who has bred before and ask for one of their puppies instead. New moms are the most scared. :-(

I feel so sorry about all these sad things in a shiba life, in a dog life, but suffering is part of all our lives... and I really want to make my Shihan a dad... i have a jack russle and they scream as loud as they can when you are tring to cut there nails your not hurting them they just get scared and when people cut there nails they get the same feeling as they do but we dont scream we got used to it so we dont mind :)

i have yet to hear the shiba scream from my own shiba, but in my opinion, it doesn't sound much different than a normal puppy scream
