  • i love how in the bridge, it's 'something there in between' instead of 'Jesus there in between'. It shows how her faith has strengthened as she's become an adult <3

  • @therealLivMason Funny, I always see Jesus in people's twisted thoughts. I'm an atheist.

  • I love this version. I heard the studio version in my cousin's car and I think I may like it better... But I can't find it anywhere. Anyone know where I could find it?

  • Flyleaf and P.O.D. are the best Christian bands.

  • I like the original one is better.. She sounds little and my favorite part is like, not even in the song anymore :/

  • @harmonemonie this IS the original version. The new version is the one you like. Learn and don't be ignorant.

  • @velicitygirl321 This isn't the version that's on their first album, that's what I was talking about you ass. & learn the definition of "ignorant".. Because I'm pretty sure saying "I like the other version better" is NOT being ignorant. Kay? Thanks.

  • @harmonemonie Well it sounded to me you said you liked the other one better because it was the original. Don't get mad at me because you couldn't spell correctly to get your correct point across, MANY people are bound to confuse what you said.

  • @velicitygirl321 Well as I recall, I didn't spell anything wrong? Haha, & don't expect me to NOT get mad with you or whatever, if you're gonna comment stupid things on YouTube haha Goodbye <3

  • Ummm...this is directed to whoever made this video: in love. Two words. Not one.

  • i love how you edited all the pictures. it flows seamlessly

  • Why do people always mess around with religion?! Religion is ok if u need it, i myself dont care about it and still find this music awesome. Why must good or bad music always have a religous or non religous attribute?! just take music as music and enjoy it therefore. i hear black metal too, i dont care as long as the music itself is awesome...

  • This is the band right here. This band truly brings youy closer to God, if you continually listen to this band everyday. You'll be like my God, everything there saying is true.

This inspired me to write 6 christian rock songs, this band truly did it for the Lord bless this band. Forever a Flyleaf fan.

  • 2:24 is the reason why Flyleaf rocks like hell

  • @TheBiebsCandy ohhhhhh. i get it. .

  • I love this version as well as the original studio version. This one is more soothing and introspective. Thanks for giving us both. And thanks for your creative spirits.

  • I love this band been listening for years now, yet somehow I always seem to find a different version of the same song no matter how many times I think I already have them all. Will i ever succeed? Life chenging, great band, with lyrics and music that really connect with people. They deserve more recognition.

  • Amazing. Much better than the new version.

  • thats passerby?

  • wonderful

  • 15 people doesn't have eardrums -_-

  • That last pic... Love it! So cute!

  • :] thats it

  • @e1kie her tattoo on her left arm says beulah (i believe she took it from somewhere in ephesians)

tho if you mean writing on her on one of the pics in the video then she wrote/drew on herself before a lot of their shows, i think she said it was a calming thing for her

  • I love the Flyleaf version better -the 'whooshes' distracts me from her beautiful vocals in this version "/ sorry !

  • Tp people who are like what's Passerby? Passerby is what Flyleaf was going to be thier name but another band trademarked it before they could. So They cahgned thier name to Flyleaf, which is the blank page at the begining of a book. Lacey ays it's for new starts, since she had a rough chilhood and struggled with drug addiction.

  • I love the Passerby version of this song much more then the Flyleaf version. Lacey's voice sounds much better on this version and it feels much more relaxing

  • I like it because it has a space feel to it, I think of the movie Sunshine when I listen to it.

  • Somebody tell me what that says on her arm I cant read the last two words

  • @e1kie I think is says 'Beulah' im not sure but i think its something from the Bible

  • Respond to this video... my favorite band sence i wus 14..:)

  • Thanks for uploading this video.. it means so much to me. Flyleaf is so amazing.. and i haven't heard Lacey's voice like this before.. it's just.. beautiful.. this song are nearly making me cry, but.. i keep the tears inside.

  • lacey said herself just because a plumber is a christian doesent make him a christian plumber. they are christians but at heart a rock band, its just their beliefs clearly show through their music.

  • The Passerby version, is technically Flyleaf, just with a different name.

  • this is for her husband who died.

    sadly :(

  • @tsukasa092709635 O.o She got divorced

  • @tsukasa092709635 This was for teen girls who get beaten by men. Thats why she says "so I thought." Dont think she was ever married till now and her recent first husband is still alive and she is pregnant. Sucks though, didnt she know Im still single?

  • ummm.. they ARE a christian band if their singer says they are and only stayed together as long as they keep God first..look it up...there is NOTHING wrong with being Christian or being a Christian band..and it doesn't require all the music have christian themes....

  • wow.I love them.

  • this song is amazing its so soft and kind this is fucking amazing

  • I just love this song. It makes me happy and sad the same time.

  • Hate to say it but Memento Mori was a shit album, it was definately Flyleaf's style and it was really creative, but it feels rushed as though they just wanted to put out an album. This(album) really their best work. Either way flyleaf is the shit, at least their music has a positive vibe, I don't know how much more negative I can put up with without killing someone.

  • @OEFdevilVET to me it wasn't I think it was beautifully written how it tells a story and it makes you think about the world. I like their first album a little bit better as well, but I still love both of them dearly. But everyone has their own thoughts on it.

  • I have question was lacey married before her marriage to josh sturm? I can't help but think that I read somewhere that she was... anyways if anyone can answer I'd really appreciate it.

  • @zoom789mine yeah she got married to some guy with the last name Carder I believe. I saw it in a old video that was posted of them back in the day where she said that her name was Lacey Carder at the time.

  • @zoom789mine

yes. actually his name was Aaron Carder.. he was a guitarist in the band Choris Romance... clearly... ha

  • @SweetSweetDannDann

she actually always dated james for a good while.

  • In my opinion, their greatest song ever. I would love to know the true meaning of it but to me it talks about life, love, and faith. My three fav things.

  • @TheMax279 it does have all of that in it, everytime I listen to it, I feel the same way of it. It talks about how you can start over with your life when you've done some things you have regretted in the past. How you can change it for the better :)

  • Flyleaf are not a christian rock band, the memebers might be christian but that doesn't make the band christian, their music isn't just for christians and doesn't always talk about or reference a god or their religious views. Think about it if a builder is christian does that make him strictly a christain builder only to work for christians?

  • @dudeboybaz92

you need to pay more attention to the words of the band,,,,just because you have something against being christian...that is not the reality..Lacey says they are a christian band...if they are all christians then they ARE a christian band..it does not require that all their songs are about God...

  • @oakenshanks im not against christians, i have seen interviews where they have said they aren't a christian band, their music isn't strictly for christians, and they don't preach about religion either, it comes across in their music but they actually don't tell people to follow a god. Just because someone is a christian it doesn't mean that makes their profession christian.

  • i almost like this one better. Lacey sounds amazing

  • she sounds so young

  • I like this song its really nice.

  • Flyleaf reminds me that there are so many important things in life that I've never focused on before. I'm glad I found them. Or...they found me. Whatever. I'm just glad I have thier music to turn to.

  • I Love Flyleaf so much. There Music is what keeps me going from day to day and i thank them for it

  • @666Arise did you know that they are a christian rock band? why is your user name 666 arise? she sings about god in all of her songs.

  • i love this song so much ♥ thumbs up if you agree :)

  • want to be like them

  • It's amazing how they added the piano bit. Wish they would do that in more of their songs. =)

  • Flyleaf changed my life.

That shows you the power of lyrics.

  • Nice version. Only peace through our Lord. Joh 14:27

  • that last picture is amazing!

  • Her voice......I am amazed.

  • She has such an amazing voice.

  • What does the passerby version of a track mean? The early demo version, like not a final cut of the track to see which artist can use the track on their album or whatever?

Anyways, I prefer the newer version MUCH more.

  • @ElectroSkies No, Passerby is the old name of the band. They started as Passerby, released the EP and then changed to Flyleaf.

  • I love the inoccent voice here, but I prefer the lyrics of the newer version.

  • I'm a huge Flyleaf fan and i like almost everything they've done but somehow their older stuff is twice as amazing as most of their new stuff or the newer versions of their old stuff

  • I absolutely love the last picture in the video! It is very fitting. Beautiful song as well :)

  • This song...helped me get through so much...

I was in love and in pain...

    This song erased it all.

Now I met someone who is worth my time, who actually notices me...ya know?

Anyway, Flyleaf/Passerby please never ever die <33 Rock and live on.

  • Pretty neat, different.

  • i like this version better

  • I love this song! It's beautiful!

  • I am a complete naturalist and anti-religion yet I've been listening to Flyleaf since I was in 7th grade which was... 05-06 and there music makes me feel like I almost believe in god I fucking love this band so much and the fact that they started out as Passerby

  • Thank you for posting this song. It has such a wonderful melody that you can get lost in for hours on end.

  • I love the last picture. Their smiles are so pretty. <3

  • i like this version better.. "i know thats true because so long i was, so in love with you. so i thought.." </3

  • umm 2:19 where did you get that picture from

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ME, I LOVE THIS VERSION SOO MUCH BETTER!!! <3 9X :)

  • flyleaf always makes me feel better.....i love them...:3

they help me to remember the one who loves me the most..

  • wow ... this song is just amazing, this is definatly the better version ♥

  • "Something There In Between"

  • she sounds like her size, lol. This is an amazing version. better than the new one.

  • I love this version!!!!!!!!!!! thankx for posting!

  • Wow her voice was so young here.

  • god damn she sound so young in this o.o (I know duh, I just had to point out the obvious xD sorry)

  • I really like this version of the song. And I like how all the pics fit perfectly. It just shows you how far they've come and how much they've grown as people and as a band. The pic at the end shows just that.

  • both versions are really good, i dig the experimentalness of this version you can tell it isnt to over produced butttttt at the same time i like how the album version gets to the point a little faster and having ryan white back lacey up makes it a bit more powerful, but thats just my opinion =)

  • in my opinion, the lyrics of this version are better, but musically, i prefer the album version

  • I love the last picture! :D Everyone has a smile on their face :) even James haha

  • I think the version on the album is better only because all the psychedelic sounds in the background detract from the beauty of the lyrics.

  • This is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.

  • I like that last picture of them all smiling :)

  • Wow. Her voice has changed through all the albums and bandnames,

though it has been beautiful all the time! (:

  • This is the only version i like, the other was, to much! I also think the acoustic version of there for you is better too. :)

  • awesome song

  • this isn't bad, but it's gotta the only Flyleaf song that I can say is not as good as the album version.

  • wow.. its cute.. plus the very cute voice of lacey.. wow...

  • this version is sooooooo cool.

  • anyone know what effects they use on the guitars?

  • @deadeyedickification

It's a flanger/phaser with extreme settings, with the Nova modulator i do it not bad.

  • thanks man couldnt figure it out.

  • This version's awesome! Where can I download it?

  • So before they renamed themselves Flyleaf, they hadn't incorporated Jesus and Christianity into this song.

Both versions are good, but I really, really love the "Flyleaf" version a lot more. I connect with God really significantly in that one. Not to say this one isn't good. In fact, I'm not surprised some like it more. I just prefer the newer one.

  • <3 love it <3

  • LOVED it. AWESOME song no matter what version.

  • i love her voice in thsi one its so pure best ive heard sing wise but i like the othe rone better "Jesus there in between"

  • i know what you mean, i think.

haven't heard the other version, but this version came out before the other version.

so they added Christianity to the new version.

  • @ashleytisdalesilver7 This is the original version. It was made before the Flyleaf one. So maybe they written with "something" as first time and decide do add Jesus after. So Jesus wasn't "taken off".

    I like both versions.

  • @ashleytisdalesilver7 This is the original. So they put all the Christianity in the other one.

  • dont worry, I;ve grown to really enjoy this one now!!!

  • @ashleytisdalesilver7 The passerby version is sweeter, and the first one I heard; so it is special in my heart.

  • too freakin cool

  • thi5 5ong i5 amazing, i love it.

  • this song is so bomb

but why at the begining she didnt say Jesus

    what made them change it

what made them not say it on this version

  • I've heard it was the record label. If you look around, you can find the original versions of Cassie and the other songs too. You wouldn't believe how much they changed.

  • Flyleaf wasn't originally a Christian Band, But then Lacey got more close to God, and they Changed it.

  • what version does she say Jesus?

if you can find it could you send the link please

  • @blinket4evuh we can't talk about it

  • On Flyleaf's first album this song says Jesus on it. Towards the end. "In all these twisted thoughts, I see, Jesus there in between."

  • tear* amazing

  • lol its hard to think that she has like 6 kids lol

  • She doesnt.

    Her mother does, though.

  • she doesnt have six kids, her mom does, shes one of six

  • O_o

  • This is suuuch a great song! <33 xD

  • Umm so the bass guitarist looks so much like Bert mccraken from the used I rekon

  • no he doesn't haha Pat doesn't really look like Bert, i mean at times, but Pat has a way different shape face, and face in general, but i can see how your're getting that like his hair haha :)

  • Love the picture at the end lol!

  • Gosh i love this song!

    Makes me wanna cry sometimes.

  • every time i hear this song... it reminds me of what me of a lot of things....

  • This is the original song, dumbass.

Flyleaf were Passerby before they became Flyleaf, and 'So I Thought' is one of the older songs they wrote, and then were changed around when they released their first album.

  • this song reminds me of last winter when I was going through some pretty crappy things

it also reminds me of the snow

and this girl....... that I no longer waste my time with

  • it reminds me of some pretty crappy things and a girl i wasted time with also :)

  • @bevon17 Hell yeah, I feel the same feelings when I hear this song! It makes me think of some pretty shitty times! My ex Nichole sings just like her and almost looks like her!

  • She is so pretty! And I love her voice!

  • What effects is the guitarist using here? The one with the delay/echo sound, I can't seem to have any idea to manipulate that sound.

Any cheap guitar gadgets you might suggest to me?

    Thanks a bunch!

  • Pretty sure it's a Phaser.

If you want to keep stuff consolidated look into a Behringer V-AMP Pro. It has different effects and different amp settings. Not as much control as with pedals, but you can edit pretty much everything about the patch, so it isn't bad for 100-200 dollars.

  • aw she sounds so young lol. back in the passerby days xD

  • this song has so many happy memories for me... anyone else? :D

  • She sounds amazing. Flyleaf is great. They are introducing many to Christianity through their music. And whether you are a Christian or not; their music is a welcome change.

  • I love it and I am not religious.

  • She sounds like Cindy Lauper, except Lacey's voice is a little smokier and her lyrics are infinitely better.

  • winter ..

  • i like both passerby anf Flyleaf version.....this song is really great no matter what..

  • I love this song. It puts me at ease. ^_^

  • Really cute video of them.. Lacey's voice is great.. Luv her tat!!. The blonde guy is soo hot.. Flyleaf rox!!.

  • I love Flyleaf. This song is so sweet. It summarizes my past year with two different situations; one good and one not. I might either sing or lip-synch it sometime.

  • I like this one so much better than the new one cause this one is just more sweet and slow you know?

  • Yes, the original is the best.

  • I've always wondered... what does her tatoo say on her arm??

  • Beulah. its from:

No longer will they call you Deserted,

    or name your land Desolate.

But you will be called Hephzibah,

    and your land Beulah

for the LORD will take delight in you,

and your land will be married.

Also, "Beulah" is hebrew for married.

  • i remeber she said once on an interview... just keep aching them and ull find it... i cant remeber wat she said

  • I think I saw a picture of it on google but I cant really remember it =P

  • i think lacey wrote it to allow everyone to interpret however he/she wishes

  • The Passerby version is more ambiguous. The version on the Flyleaf CD actually mentions "Jesus" by name. I, honestly, do not care as Lacey does not seem to be a bigoted Christian. She seems very sweet and accepting of other people's beliefs.

  • Which is why I freaking adore Flyleaf.

  • SHUT UP

    ...srry

  • Why is all this fighting over the meaning of this song? Why must we know what Lacey was thinking when she wrote this song? Why cant this song mean something diffrent to everyone who listens to it? Why must there always be a right answer, when none of you are her and can only guess at what she thinks ?

  • this version is really beautiful, but I like the other one better. but still love the song.

  • This is a beautiful song and the one who wrote this knew what she was thinking. We're the ones who don't.

  • i like the other version better but this song is just amazing

and guys its not worth aguing over
