Each one of those 10,000 practicing religions asserts that it is right, only it can be right, and all others are wrong, and generally, those that are wrong are going to be punished horrifically and/or eternally. They all argue exclusivity, with no empirical evidence for their position... or any theist position... being correct.

I wasn't sure about the bible at all until a friend invited me to church camp. When we would all pray/sing in unison, I felt the spirit coursing through my body. You think it is an illusion, something I manifested because I really wanted to feel it, but I had never actually heard about the holy spirit until, not an hour after worship, I flipped to a random page. As detailed as the graph may have been, it still boils down to you either believing and accepting jesus died on the cross for our sins. By believing you are saved, by not believing you aren't. Not all christian religions believe jesus died on the cross for our sins. So it is only 2 choices.

You have never had your life on the line, you have never realized what it means to be condemned and have none to save you, and then, of course, being so sheltered from harm, you are unthinking. ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! NOT ALL EVOLUTIONISTS even agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature. They can reconstruct whatever they want from these bones, and they have. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from an ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from a four-legged dog-like creature. APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged dog-like creatures. Each one of those 10,000 practicing religions asserts that it is right, only it can be right, and all others are wrong, and generally, those that are wrong are going to be punished horrifically and/or eternally. They all argue exclusivity, with no empirical evidence for their position... or any theist position... being correct.
The chances of one of them being correct is 1:10,000... the chances of them all being wrong is 1:1... or, if you consider the evidence, 1:0.

I wasn't sure about the bible at all until a friend invited me to church camp. When we would all pray/sing in unison, I felt the spirit coursing through my body. You think it is an illusion, something I manifested because I really wanted to feel it, but I had never actually heard about the holy spirit until, not an hour after worship, I flipped to a random page. That was when I knew what I had felt. I realize I sound like a nut, and this won't prove anything to anyone else, but its why I believe

@viletree In Jewish Law, the Sin of the Condemned could be set aside by the High Priest , who would offer the Scapegoat. Now, maybe in our time, the courts do not operate on these principles , but likely you would not know that in the Ancient Jewish Courts , all death sentences could be set aside in abeyance, due to the intercession of the King or the High Priest, and the spiritual idea extends then to Jewish thought about how God forgives sins and raises the dead to a better life.

@viletree So, with this practical explanation ,then spiritualized in Christ, we are being taught how to forgive each other, when in life there are disasters and people die for the slightest infringements. An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth , when having an eye and tooth was determining who survives and who dies. And then, to teach people to forgive each other's sins , is the Abeyance or Scapegoating Principle, so a a harsh law may apply in an emergency, but not always.

If there is a GOD, I pray it's a dog. It will be just as happy as shit to see me come through the pearly gates, or the gates of hell. It won't mind. Daddy's home! XD

Seriously, you habe to be a good person in order to love dogs. Dogs represent unconditional love; there is no greater good :)

If the xian 'god' was as loving and as forgiving as my dog, I would scratch HIM behind HIS ears and tell HIM what a good boy HE was and how much I loved HIM. Alas. :' (

@fitnessgirrl Thankfully I don't have that problem. My 'dog' is a wonderful parent. It allows its 'puppies' to roam and experience life to its fullest. It doesn't judge or condemn. It's such a good dog. It has lived its life, and is now content to sit back and watch its puppies get their own 'kick' out of life. Damn! That's a, 'Good! Boy!!'. Yes you are!! It knows its time on Earth is short. It has experienced all it wanted to, or could. Now it is content to let its puppies find their own path.
