    I had a Walmart bike that lasted 8 years of daily commute. Several punctures/changes of tires/brake blocks and other expected consumables were the only things it needed. I now have an expensive bike... and will be interested to see the difference.

  • @GhibliFan1 I have a cannondale I bought in 1994.

    The only things I've replaced on it are the tape, the tires of course, and I change the chain every 1500 miles. If you have straight laced wheels they won't go out of true until a 1/2 decade later. I do periodically change the cabling, simply because dust causes the wire to stick after a point.

    I probably have 20,000 miles on that bike.

    See the difference?
