@The000Roy What are you talking about, this was their style, and it was awesome. Funk/hard rock with some Bojangles. Of course their influence shines through. What they did later is like most bands, what they were told to sell albums...
Awesome. They look into the music enough to be playing Korn stuff, yet they funk it up just like a bunch of chili peppers! Even as a young band, Incubus rocked.
In my opinion, the best song of the first EP of Incubus, that's also the best one they've ever made. "Enjoy Incubus" was powerful and funky with a great line up, DJ Life and Dirk Lance were totally amazing. Also Science was a pretty good album, but after that, they lost the funk, the power and the willing to do somethin' new along the way.
@WildBillHickums just an update on what I made on that FDR paper, I got a C on it and my instructor wrote a note at the bottom saying "Incubus won't pass your courses," the bastard.
why does Incubus doesn't play this song or other songs from there first album... I really miss them playing this kind of music especially live... Even in their other new live performances, they did not play anymore from this album... SCIENCE may be they play some songs.
u have no idea how badly i wish i was in high school in the 90s man im in high school now and it sucks everyone is so gay now with all there fuckin twilight shit, and fucked up rap music it makes me so mad man
@Shamrock956 dude i know i am a junior and the only person i relate to with loving incubus is my biology teacher, he is so kick ass man, he loves TOOL and incubus ahah he is more like my best friend than my teacher. I'm so sick of this new age All time low and rap bullshit.
I feel for Shamrock956 and BANDJAZZY I actually did go though highschool in the late 90's somewhere in the mid-west, but let me tell you we felt the same as you did. I saw Incubus with Snot, System of a Down, and Soulfly roughly 1 month after this video was made... trust me they were not popular at that time, and we had to hunt to find the good stuff. buuuuuut we did get our pay back later when a bunch of those bands hit MTV etc. Keep hunting the good crap is out there!
@biazzaz hahah i feel for me to lol, i know there is other good stuff out there but i wish i could have saw incubus back when they weren't as big and their music still sounded like this. I still love them and want to see them now, but it would have been amazing to see them back then to. I
Yeah I have a constant reminder of that day because above my eye was split open pretty bad. Scar through my eyebrow to this day! They were the first act and every seat had a press packet with "science guy" masks etc...yep we tossed them under the chairs :( stupid me. System was very good that day, and if you haven't checked out snot please do so. Their singer (and dog/mascot) was killed shortly after the show I was at. Somewhere there is a tribute album to him with 7dust etc.
@biazzaz i will definitely check out snot and tell you what i think :] ahah and thats awesome, not the fact that you busted your eye open but the fact that you have something permanent to remember the day for...so kinda yeah it is awesome you busted your eye open :D
@Shamrock956 In the 90's you had the fucking Spice Girls, N'sync, the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and other horrible shitty things.
some might say, but it's probably better than any rip off you could've done at 15 :p despite the familiar scales and structure, there's obviously a more mature sense of arrangement than anybody who simply "rips off" could pull out their arse.
@poop4256 Actually - if you could even call rip-off, you'd call it for Mr. Bungle (lead singer Mike Patton, also lead singer of Faith No More) as they were from CA as well and had that sound far before RHCP did. Incubus thanks Mr. Bungle in their Fungus Amongus EP liner notes. Incubus was influenced - they didn't rip. That is how music works - and it made some amazing music with Incubus.
