I-IV-V-I. it's nice how you actually voice lead. it drives me crazy when overzealous shredheads go nuts and all they're playing are a bunch of triplet 16th note arpeggios with the root on the bottom. this has serious potency for pivot point modulation, too!

well actually u can do it one of two ways. if ur like recording something like a song not a vid. and u wanna do something like this u can put something on the first fret to reduce string buzz and noise as u move but im pretty sure hes just talking about with ur hand like a regular sweep

With this amount of string skipping and the clarity of what he is playing, it seems more than likelly he's using a string mute. I had lessons from a monster player (Conrad Harpham) who did this a lot! And the mute is an awesome tool, it makes a lot of seemingly impossible licks become possible.
