  • I read long ago that this song was written for a certain teacher. One of the girl singers had a deep crush on him, so that's why the song was written. Apparently, it broke her heart not to be with him.

    Such a sweet song!

  • That was composer Charles Strouse first record. He went on the become a Broadway composer. Lovely melody and great performance.

The record was "discovered" by KFGO Fargo disc jockey Bobby Dale. He went on to become a classic DJ in Omaha, Saint Paul and the west coast.

(Sometimes I felt I was born too late).

  • No honey, it's not your fault, you were not born too late, I was born too early.

  • Spring/ Summer, of'58, this was just an all-time romantic classic ; I was 11, going on 12 y/o, and i did my 1st " chest to chest ', slow dance to this song. Her name was Dotty Lynes, and she was such a total Babe. i love this song today, as much as I did then. Thank-you for this Vid: one of the best I've seen on ' YT". • Thank You TheJerryChannel for a very clever and classy video. I appreciate the lyrics. Patty Dwyer, you broke an 8 year olds heart. She was 15 and lived across the street and we were both half a block up the street from Roches drug store in Syracuse.. Great big cokes for a dime!
