I read long ago that this song was written for a certain teacher. One of the girl singers had a deep crush on him, so that's why the song was written. Apparently, it broke her heart not to be with him.

That was composer Charles Strouse first record. He went on the become a Broadway composer. Lovely melody and great performance.

The record was "discovered" by KFGO Fargo disc jockey Bobby Dale. He went on to become a classic DJ in Omaha, Saint Paul and the west coast.
