  • @JontheStripper Yes the GT was a sexy car. Still is. But is it still in production?...no. How much did it cost?150,000 bucks verses the 110,000 the corvette offers. And since the GT isn't sold anymore that price will soon be in the millions. How much HP? 550 HP. Corvette ZR1 has 640 HP and yet it's cheaper. So I don't think the GT is faster then the ZR1. And you must have penis on the mind a lot to actually think it looks like one haha! So is the GT an amazing sexy car? Absolutely, I would take

This one guy beefed up a nice Viper. I'm jealous of him cuz it's sexy and custom painted.   • Actually acceleration wise it is exactly the same 3.3 0-60 quarter at 11.2. The gt's rear engine makes it more stable on turns and when you buy the Vette an average person will think its just a regular corvette because they are everywhere at least Ford put the effort into a completely one of a kind car. Oh and the 550 on the GT is actually underrated the 638 ZR1 only puts low to mid 500's at the wheel same as the GT. You'd think being newer there would be a bigger performance gap not a tie

  • @1970351cmustang Um, no vettes are not everywhere...they make around 30,000 a year average...sometimes less...Gay Rustangs are everywhere...because ford decided to put a v6 in them so all rednecks and stupid bitches can buy them...thats why the mustang is for fags and bitches...vettes hit 1 million units in '91...mustangs hit 1 million units in what, '70 or earlier?...and the vette has been out since '53...the mustang...'64 (64.5 if you wanna get technical)

  • @1970351cmustang also...take into consideration how much driveline loss is in the corvette compared to the gt...it has to go down the hole cat through a torque tube...the gt has a direct drive through a trans and diff...but the gt is going to have oversteer like a mother fucker since its midengine...a ZR1 is a balanced car...easier to throw through curves...put it at nurburgring and tell me the GT lap time...if there is one...hope it beats a 7:19 around the ring...

  • The Ford GT is a faster more prestigious car. ya the corvette has more of a drive train loss that's a design flaw along with the ancient OHV design. There's no such over steer on a Ford GT. The front engine design has more weight up front which makes it harder to point the nose the direction you want to go. the ZR1 is simply a corvette on steroid's as where the Ford GT is a whole other car. Every exotic sports car in the world Porsche,Ferrari,Lambo,Bugatti etc. are rear engine for a reason.

  • @1970351cmustang well...ill have you know that the Corvette design team has been trying to do a mid engine layout for years...since the very early 70's...yet the corporate bean counters are the ones who keep them from doing it. The corvette does not suffer like a mid engine...all you need to do is power the rear end around with acceleration pedal inputs...this can be done in a lowly pickup truck as well because of the drivetrain layout...the corvette is a 49/51 balance, nearly perfect...

  • It is faster I don't know what your smoking but it was made for speed its a recreation of the GT40 which destroyed everything corvettes and Ferraris alike. The Zr1 is a great car smoking expensive euros left and right and is on my dream list but when it comes to technology and speed the GT has it OHC, rear engine, only about 2000 made, aerodynamics its the whole package. The cobra jet that comes in that car is capable of putting 1500 to the wheels with no internal modifications an ls9 cant.

  • If you know how to drive it, its a faster car and a straight line is where 99.9% of all street races take place you don't see people racing around turns and shit you fight it out from a stoplight or on a freeway. Either way your still an ignorant Government motors lover who cant deny that their new corvette can barely beat or keep up with a car that is 4 years older and is still using ancient OHV engines Hell the original GT40 had a SOHC 427. Simpler isn't always better every exotic sports car in the world is DOHC except the ZR-0 you are right about improving upon it thats why Ford improved! Chevy needs to keep it simple because if something does go wrong they'll need another bailout for the recall LOL!! Oh and changing a spark plug is just as easy as on your Vette.

  • Actually I'm a 50 year old machinist with 12 years in at the test site, and another 20 owning my own business and I recently bought my son a 2012 GT500 with the track pack so you'll want to watch out if you see him on the road even more so with my 70:). I have completely rebuilt my 70 ported heads cams exhaust 3.91's and that was in 1980. I am doing a ground up resto in the next year! I live here in Vegas so I do my dyno tuning at Shelby American there even the Vette guys admit the GT rules!!

The first thing a Chevy guy thinks of is how easy it is to work on because he thinks hell be having to fix it all the time but he forgets it's a Ford not a Government motors vehicle.

  • @1970351cmustang I am also a 50 year old who owned one of the best Mustangs ever built. Vin 67402F-2A00366. Look it up if you feel the need. And I can still get Fords on the Z-Plan. That being said, Ford has a long way to go to compete with the Corvette. When I see a Ford actually compete at the Texas Mile, then I will be impressed. Until then, it's all about Corvettes, Vipers, Supras, and Lamborghinis.

  • i work for a german car company maybe you have heard of them called porsche, and let me let you in on something they suck they overengineer the simplest things and on top of that the technology is always failing, you could work on a corvette with minimal mechanical aptitude porsche you cant even check your oil the corvette is a great car along with mustang camaro viper ford gt, these cars are true performance cars even though they dnt tag on a 200k price tag

  • seriously what`s all of that inept talk about corvette interiors, ferrari is extensively using fiat parts for their interiors, like vents, knobs, handles etc. yes they come with a leather wrapped dash board and door inlets with stitching but you can have that in a corvette as well if you like to pay a lil extra.

  • I love this interior. i know a lot of people think it looks like crap but its an upgrade to my C5. Love the contrast stitching.

  • You really can not go wrong with a corvette. Theres a lot of Pros: Power, Looks, Comfort, will always turn a head, will mostly keep up with any car. the only really big Con is that the exterior is mostly plastic... Lol

  • i'm sorry i owened a 69 corvette with mods one of my first performance cars. i was not really blown away in it. i sold it and bought a 97 corvette same interior as my wife's 96 monte carlo z34. i have worked for chevy as an engineer for years i still have to say i am not blown away. i quit my job there in 08 cause all of our engine designs our styling our everything was changed to what euro styling. and super charger everything. i will buy a chevy again when its american again.

  • im a GM guy mostly...so when i here them say "the best race technology proven on the track and taken to production"...OR..."pushing technology further" i ask.. have they seen there competitors inventory..they dont run on leaf springs or glue roof panels,use unstable plastic bumpers or using there fingers to ensure the panels and doors are properly lined up ..in my opinion our "race" tech is sub-par compared to the European market - just a thought-

  • @tuugfo as much as i love the corvette.......they didn't go insane or monumental with it when they had every chance to ,no attention to detail or use of ingenuity , half assed interior, "Bang for your buck" is for a weekend romper and impress some kids but it dosent hold a sense of worth over time when you know how it was built and what materials complete the car....and i didn't say nothing about push-rod there are plenty hyper and super cars that have throaty bad ass push rod dry-sump V8s

Carbon fiber roof, hood, fenders, etc. Best 6 speed transmission in the market, best tires you can buy. Besides best stereo in the world and being the 5th fastest car around the Nurburgring for 110,000, it has an ok interior
