The "Prediction" about manual transmissions will completely disappear in the next few years" is just that ...a guessing nonetheless.

The upcoming 1 series M couple will be available only with the 6 speed stick! the Porsche Cayman R as well, and the FT-86 Toyo/Suba will be stick also!

What I trying to say is that if there is demand for manual, those car makers will supply it. Doesnt matter the E-gear will shift faster than any human, and can save gas as well. But it will cost more than the stick!
