well if you're in a high school that offers a mcjrotc, then you can join. it sucks cuz I'm moving and where I am going, they do not have any jrotc program. but they supposedley have one in medford, and that's nearby. It just depends on where you live. When you join the Marines, you'll be able to go to the Marine Corps Ball, if your program doesn't have one. It is REALLY fun. Whoa what awesome cake. =]

i dont have to try anything. the Marines do use help from the other branches but that still doesnt change the fact that the marines still came before them and yet are still apart from there own individual branch.

yeah the marine corps trains the navy, smart one. Major actually trained navy selas. jus tbecause if the naval academy, a lot of people think that the Marine Corps operate under the navy, not true. different branches. marine corps has its own aviation program, aquatic program, and is its own branch. the marines train a lot of components of the navy, and anyway, we are all serving the USA so no need for fighting!

You are a total idiot. the United states Marine Corps Is not it's own branch it is a Department of the Navy so the take their orders form the Secretary of the Navy. if look on the USMC seal it says Department of the Navy.

okay now Im a Marine and was in jrotc. And I know for SURE you guys do not RATE the wear the full Blood Stripe on your trousers!!

The cadets in MCJROTC are all civilian, they cannot "rate" the blood stripe even if they wanted to given that they are NOT ACTUAL MEMBERS of the military. I am sure given your claim as a past cadet and even a current military status, can tell the difference.

exactly there are " not actual members" so in saying that they do not rate to wear the full blood stripe which Marines earn to wear. Mcjrotc wears 1/4 on the blood stripe. Theres an order on it!

FYI the Marines were founded in Nov. 10 1775. BEFORE the navy came about.

darksly22, the marine corps was commisioned as the continental marines on 10 november 1775, then after the revolutinary war they were de-commisioned, then they were once again commissioned on 11 july 1778 i believe not 100% sure baout that year. . .
