  • Bill Cosby has the illest facial expressions ever !!! He came with it on this classic espisode.

  • why would anyone dislike this...

  • Keisha Knight-Pulliam is so adorable in this episode...she stole the show! Hard to believe she grew up to be that sexy thang I saw in Beauty Shop...definitely hard to see her as Rudy anymore LOL

  • Ahhh..this takes me back to my childhood. Every Tuesday night (I think) the family would gather around the TV and watch the Cosby show.

  • @MajorRocker74 That was when NBC acknowledge black people.

  • I LOVE THE COSBY'S NOW THATS A FAMILY

  • Truly great! I was overseas and never saw this show...sure hope I can find someplace that has these entire shows. Wow. TV has nothing this good on anymore. Just trash like DWTS.

  • TV Sitcoms at it's best entertainment. This is the first Episode I liked the character "Theo, did not like him before this. Thank You Mr. Bill Cosby FOREVER!

  • Super ☆ Entertainment!! Hearts out!! ❤R-luv

  • This song selection of Ray Charles was kind of weird due to the sexual nature of the song and having a young child sing it.

  • man Claire for not having a solo KILLS it..wow..

  • RIP GRANDMA HUXTIBLE

  • epic episode

  • "BABY!"

  • This is when families were really families

  • baabay

  • I'm so mad that TV is this entertaining anymore!

  • @Damitra1106 me too what happened? I think money corrupted it.

  • @carabookid lol...That could be true. On top of that, there are way too many reality shows taking over TV. What a SHAME!

  • My favorite episode ever!!!!!!

  • I always thought the coolest part was when Theo comes down the stairs, no idea why. Also, I think Bill Cosby did the most believable lip-synch; not necessarily because he was the best, but because he sounds enough like Ray Charles that it could easily have been him singing instead of Ray.

  • Is there a way to email/view this clip in Canada? I want to share it with my family, but they said it is unviewable in Canada..

  • LMBO @ rudy ! so cute!!!! oh yea, and Claire was getting it!

  • SWEET........1 OF MY FAV....

  • This was a great show, and a wonderful example of a real family. I don't think a show has been made like it since.

  • @noelimit23 I think BET is gonna try to bring this type of show back w/ the new one w/ Malcolm Jamal Warner (Theo) and Tracie Ellis Ross (Joan from Girlfriends). It airs next month

  • @MLanei

That'd be great. According to your theory, if it does well in the ratings, it could possibly garner critical acclaim and be another Cosby Show!

  • R.I.P Anna! 93 years old!

  • i love when the grand parents come visit

  • haha pause at 2:03 ;)

  • What is the name of this episode?

  • @waterflowing2 Happy Anniversary(S2, Ep3)

  • rudy has really grown up just to say now she is in house of payne as maranda

  • One of THE BEST Shows ever!

  • i love rudy!!!!

  • BABEAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BABEAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!

  • What made the Cosby Show so great was that it transcended races, generations, lifestyles, and cultures. The show was never "in your face" about presenting a "black" family, but rather an American family. Of course it was funny, but it was also educational, entertaining, positive, and easy to relate to them. After all these years, people STILL talk about this episode, and this scene in particular. The Cosby Show never goes out of style, and that's what makes it a classic, and priceless.

  • @TKE31 Rudy was the nerve racking child & not cute with her words. The Huxtables shouldve adopted her & gave her away & removed her off the show.

  • @1990babyface

First question....what the hell? It's one thing if you don't liek the character, but what you said about how they should adopt...then give her away....THEN you go back to reality and say that they should have removed her form the show....ick. But, then again, according to billions, Keisha Knight Pulliam is a fantastic actress, and is still acting.

  • @Lariel172 It's true. The creators made the biggest mistake by adding the last child on the show. The other children were very well discipline throughout the show with no problem. But that last child needed to go to an childcare adoptive foster care SERIOUSLY. She was not cute with her words but annoying. She cant shut up Someone shouldve BEAT THE LIVING CRAP out that child with a broom & a switch. Although Claire might have not approve of giving up the child, the creators shouldve sent her away.

  • @1990babyface are u referring ro raven simone? if so you're wrong because she kept that show alive the last few years. Its a fact

  • @justinmspringer Im talking about Rudy retarded dumbass... stay out of this.

  • @1990babyface You must not have watched the show much. All of the children had their issues as many children do. That is why they are not given responsibilities. Beating the crap out of a child does nothing on its own.

Theo - bad in school, got earring

Vanessa - went to Baltimore to see the Wretched

Denise - often was not totally truthful

Sandra - was pretty good, but that was because she was already in college, and of ten the first child is the best child.

  • @kenneth804 I grew up watching the show. You must havent? the other 4 children had more sense. That last annyoning dumbass child shouldve got adopted & went to foster care. See adults back then, when the show originally aired, parents & viewers thought the little demon was cute with her words. Such as saying "I'M NOT FINISHED YET". In real life that little bitch wouldve been in the ER room on life support saying disrespectful shit to GROWN adults. But that was just entertaining for viewers only.

  • @1990babyface You must have had a lapse in memory. It seems you have an innate dislike for Rudy for some reason that isn't based on the facts. By the same standard, Olivia would be just as disrespectful. But the fact is by most human standards Rudy wasn't as disrespectful as you are letting on.

Threatning to put someone in the ER is simply child abuse. I am not against corporal punishment, but you take it way overboard for the supposed disrespect.

  • @kenneth804 How in the hell do you welcome someone in your family like Olivia? But back to Rudy, It IS based on facts, she was disrespectful & a little demon from hell. Viewers & Parents thought she was just a sweet, innocent person who doesnt know what she's doing & young. Yelling, Pouting, Easedroping, taddletailing & doing shit that youre not supposed to do behind parents back is downright disrespectful

  • @1990babyface Correcting them in a loving manner includes corporal punishment, but not always. If you look at the entire season again, you will see the Huxtables have a wonderful family that is, for the most part, well behaved. Both Claire and Heathcliff were ready, willing and fully capable of delivering adequate punishment.

And you welcome someone like Olivia because she is your step-grandchild and is family.

  • @kenneth804 I watched every single episode. I know Cliff & Claire hung in there together by a thread. Black Couples dont do that in real life anymore. You must be some sort of Doctor & white? Black People would beat thier children with broomsticks & ironing cords back in the day & leave their children outside all night. There's a word for that & It's called tough love. I dont know where you get off saying it's child abuse. Olivia shouldve been an outsider, instead of being "In the family".

  • @1990babyface If I can't have dialogue with my parents (of who I have two great parents) then it makes it hard for me to share with them problems I may be having if I am scared of getting a beatdown if I challenge them in anyway or say anything outside of your unnecessarily narrow standard of what a child can say.

Parenting is about training, which implies some back and forth and flexibility. Not a beatdown.

  • Raven symone did better wen she sung this wen she was little but they still wer funnie

  • Babe----aaaay! Babe----aaaay!

  • Thumbs up for Rudy!

  • classic!

  • EPIC

  • I bet you when they made this particular episode, durin this so NOBODY was ever able to keep a straight face around each other, LOL!!

  • Claire was shaking it ha

  • @diggy334 She was getting it. that bump in the back.

  • I remember this from my teens. We didn't have a DVR then so one couldn't rewind and repeat it like one can now. That, I think, is why it made such a lasting impact. It left us wanting more, and there was nothing we could do to GET more. LOL! Kudos also to the Wardrobe people for striking a PERFECT balance between 80's style and 50's chic. Especially Lisa Bonet and Phylicia Rashad. Fashion is seasonal, but Style is TIMELESS! Bill Cosby's faces were priceless, And Rudy... Steals the Show! Ha Ha

  • Going through a tough time like my divorce and little things like watching this vid really lifts up your spirits and gives you hope. Thank you for sharing and God bless.

  • Thumbs up if the whole time you were looking a Clair.

  • @phillip3567 abso-freakin'-lutely!!! (lol!!!)

  • Ruby was good oh my gosh she was cute.

  • Classic!!! i will never forget seeing that when i was a kid and thinking it was the funniest thing ever.

  • This could be one of the biggest moments in television history! CLASSIC!

  • My absolute favorite Cosby Show moment! Great stuff.

  • I'm half black. My dad is a VP at General Motors. I live 20 minutes from Detroit. Just saying that so you can see where I'm coming from. I think that saying a show is "black" is ridiculous. What are the qualifications of a show being black? The skin color of the actors, actresses, or audience that views it? The Cosby Show broke barriers by featuring an upper-middle class black family, but it is not a "black" show. Races need to stop sticking their labels onto things, it only creates tension.

  • I still burst out laughing when Rudy breaks into "BABY!"

  • If you've ever listened to Cosby's stand up then you would know what you are talking about when you put this show in a category. Regardless of what people may think about per the stereotype of "black shows" "black people" this is a family show, that showcased a black family. He wanted to show America, that as black people we can and we did live outside of society's norm and stereotypes of black people, and black families. It wasn't a fictional side but a side no one wanted to believe existed

  • I guess it can't be a "Black show" because no one is stupidly funny, or on drugs, or pregnant for the 7th time, or killing their neighbor, or participating in a drive-by. Yes it's a family show, and a people show, and an American classic...but it's also a Black show.

  • @kimberry84 well that's rude.. sounds very ignorant

  • @kyraboo93 No, it's not rude...I'm responding to those who claim that The Cosby Show isn't a black show, bc I get why they think that. Doesn't follow the same formula as so many "black shows" that came before and after it. They don't harp on race on TCS. Life just plays out nicely and we got to witness it. As Mr. Cosby himself said, "It isn't a matter of black is beautiful as much as it is white is not all that's beautiful."

  • @kyraboo93 He wanted to portray for America an African-American fam that is successful, not despite anything, just because. He wanted to show blacks and whites that there are black families who are happy and loving and funny and aren't focused on race, but on what they can accomplish with what's there - and not be stagnant because we can't get over what we wish was there. He speaks often about blacks bettering themselves, don't think that's ignorant.

  • This may be the best episode.

  • lmao, my favorite episode <3.

  • R.I.P. Clarice Taylor. :-(

  • This is my favorite clip from the show :)

  • I miss the Cosby show, nothing lasts forever and that sucks. The world really needs this, broken families needs this, and the children, they really need this. You can't find many house holds like this anymore and that's sad. I really love this episode=)

  • I loved this episode. And Rudy not having any teeth is too funny!

  • i always thought Malcolm Jamal Warner was good looking.(we are the same age)

  • Not only was this a Classic episode and true "must see TV", this was also my very first introduction to Ray Charles (I think I was around 12). :-) I loved how the Cosby show educated you without you realizing it. LOL.

  • that was soo cute olivia was the best

  • @1eash1eash Ummm.....That Wasn't Olivia......That Was Rudy, Lol

  • rudy!

  • honest to god, before the cosby show came along, i didn't know there was such thing as a black middle class or upperclass....

  • @Kellogs43able Look around you sweetheart

  • @gingerluvers well, my dad was a cement finisher/ construction worker...my mom was a nurses' aide...i'm only the second person in my family to go to college...i earned a b.a. in english--creative writing....i would consider my family working class or lower middle class...i think i did ok...

  • i cant believe 18 people disliked this. this is classic. there will always be haters i guess.

  • Theo is so smooth coming down that staircase lol

  • my favorite part 2:42

  • @TheShani08 Absolutely!

(Except for the whole Phylicia Rashad being only ten years older than Sabrina Le Beauf thing.)

  • always thought denise was soo HOT

  • why cant we have tv like this anymore?

  • Wow, I really miss these days... takes me back to the good times!!! Reminds me of my family ;-)

  • 18 people dilike this because they can't have fun with there family like the Huxtable family !!!

  • This is my all time favorite episode of The Cosby Show.

  • It was sad that some black ppl didnt' like the Cosby because they say they are not a real black family. HOW DUMB. A normal black man cant be a father, husband and a doctor. A normal black woman cant be a mother, wife, and a lawyer and raise 5 kids. My bad we suppose to be ghetto and have baby mama/daddy drama. Look how that turn out to be. NOT GOOD. PPL need to wake the fuck up. I like the Cosby fam then the Good Times family. Because I didnt wanna be in no damn ghetto. I wanted to get out.

  • @mistanderson You do know that they wanted to move in Good Times. Part of the whole point was their struggle to do well in school and move on up in life. The family was actually the least "ghetto" in the ghetto.

  • Every once in a while, there is a TV scene for the ages...
