  • They don't go up to the high note. Shameful.

  • Szomorú vasárnap (Gloomy Sunday) - Miklós Sebő

  • The "Gloomy Sunday" version in "Schindler's List" was sung by Miklós Sebő.

  • i prefer that version to the slower original, this one is like a polka or a waltz

  • gloomy sunday...ooohh...

  • Check this link out guys! Legend has it that this piece is so disturbing, that people have committed suicide in numbers after listening to this. therefore the forbidden nature of this track might be justified...

  • Apparently it is forbidden to keep this record in Hungary, and 90% of the records where destroyed so it has some controversy (maybe why it is so hard to find). I have also been searching for this specific recording with no luck. I think a comment below is correct in assuming that they only recorded the part that was used for the film. What a damn shame. Why did Spielberg and crew not see the value on this pice of music to share it?

  • @ArousingAdmiration-

  • The song is Gloomy Sunday by Hungarian composer Raszo Seress also known as hungarian suicide song. Urban legend say many people comitted suicide to it. you should see the movie Gloomy Sunday. many singer sang it since it was composed in the 30's including Billie Holiday and Sarah Brighton

  • I like this version a lot more than the orginal one. The original one is just way too slow.

    I adore it!

I wish I knew who the artist is and how to download it.....

also wish it was longer! ;(

  • the song is eastern european so maybe looking somehow there or in musical records to find the music and have sombody play it

  • Ok after doing some Hardcore Investigating Ive come to the Conclusion that there in fact is no full recording of this version only this clip that is offered.

Schindler's List (the Recording Sessions) CD 1 track 16 4m2 tk95 Gloomy Sunday (Sam Lewis and Rezso Seress, arr. John Neufeld) (0:28)

so im assuming that the bastards recorded only 28 secs of it.

  • @LarkinsDeLaMere

Yes, I read that somewhere too that they only recorded that little part for the film. Shame that they didn't do the whole piece, it is beautiful...
