Dammit... I didn´t see those "Fuck off!" coming from him. He always seems so relaxed on interviews and stuff like that...
But I understand him... He never got the chance to really meet his dad (in fact, his father abandoned him) and he was trying to separate himself from him.
I just bought Grace a few months ago and it is quite possibly the most beautiful album I ever heard just full of the most tender beautiful sounds I have ever heard. EVER!
um i think he tim once at a show jeff went back stage to meet his dad and they got on like a house on fire but his mam didnt want him around his father
Yeah something like that.. but he never was around and I THINK that annoyed him because if you listen to the lyrics of Dream Brother supposedly it's about his friend becoming a dad or something and Jeff is warning him not to become like his own dad.
I wrote about him in my school newspaper because it was the anniversary of his death and i need ed an excuse to write about him lol, it was really special to research and find more than just how amazing his music was, other than the page editor fucking up the grammar the article was great, tell me if you want me to send you the article.
You should pay more attention to what he says. He says: It's all about now!
The beauty of music is that it's immortal. He's not here anymore, but his songs are and we shouldn't cry all the time for that because it's in the past.
Don't take me wrong, please. It' not as if I said: Ok, he's dead. So what? - That's not what I mean. But try to stop weeping and fully enjoy his sound. That's all we can do. =)
and also, as he said, it's all about NOW... and that means NOW (not 1997 or any time earlier graced with his presence...). right now. (also meant well...)
I was almost 6, but still not nearly old enough to fully appreciate this amazing music. It's a shame, I would have loved to have been older in the 90's.
that is the sweetest comment... that anyone can hear anything beyond this mans voice and passion astounds me. i mean that with good natured wry humor...
Jim Morrison would've disagreed... but perhaps you're right, maybe Jeff was high. Either way, he doesn't seem totally... coherent. Haha he still sounds terrific, though.
Freaking hell yeah! incredible vid--- ten yrs have passed since i first heard this epic song and my appreciation has only increased exponentially. Love Jeff!
cambiale de nombre , por q te lo van a borrar :S por los derechos de BMG , ponele , Gr4c3 J3ff , o algo asi :s espero q no te lo borren , este es el mejor tema y mejor version de todas de jeff
For those who asked and are wondering, this is from his Live in Chicago dvd. BUY IT. it's fucking amazing. it also contains the Grace EPK which is a masterpiece in itself.
holy fuck this guy's voice is unreal. i've listened to his album for a long time but this is the first time i've watched him live. i'm in disbelief right now.
I had to put the beginning of this on one of my videos, I just loved his intensity! Every time I hear him preform this song, I realize just how mediocre I am.
Why doesn't this have 10 million views. Like seriously, incredible voice. What a fuckin genius.
I know people will get pissed at me for saying this, but I can see why people compare Matt Bellamy of Muse's voice to his. It's def. the high stuff that is similar.
yeah i dont like comparisons to Buckley but the reason they compare it is because Bellamy has the same vocal range as Jeff. i think it's called falsetto...
An extreme tenor is Anthony greene. This could be bari-tenor. Jeffs got great falsetto but his basic voice/tessitura is way too normal to be called extreme.
Also GENESIS (with Peter Gabriel), Jeff was a big fan, he covered BACK IN NYC FROM THEIR 1974 album The Lamb lies Down on Broadway....and what about YES, KING CRIMSON.......RUSH....The 70's an 90's r the best...
90s. definitely my favourite decade. by a mile.

Mmm, Jeff, Robert, and Freddie Mercury are my all time favorites (probably in reverse order, though).
Is Jeff drunk in this vid, though? He kinda rambled during the beginning... like the whole, "Shit's happening now! Now, now, now!" bit?

Yeah, definitely. They both have similar, incredible power, range, and emotion in their voices, I guess it's only natural that they get compared.
alexatetris 3 years ago 2
no theyre both tenors thats about it,jeff buckley is a far superior vocalist to matt
syaowolf 3 years ago
Same range, power, falsetto, probably most notable though, same vibrato. Both are extreme tenors really, well over A above middle C.
Ah, I love that lazy uncoordinated grab for his volume on his guitar at the end. Definitly under the influence. Ha.
