Ordinary hard-working Americans and members of the underclass. You deserve better than the endless right-wing toxic ideology that has crippled your country.
What was it that brought all these different people railside? Young and old, black and white, rich and poor, side by side or alone. I see three gestures - the hand over the heart, the military salute and waving hello and goodbye - to someone they didn't know personally but loved none the less. The promise of a better life, a better rule of government was killed the day Bobby Kennedy died. I remember that morning when I awoke and heard the awful news. It was raining. I was 17.
One of the most painful things about watching this is knowing that most of these homes going down to the railway line have been long torn away for big box bullshit retail - or recently foreclosed upon and now stand empty.
Well done, GOP. Maybe the Liddys and Hunts weren't responsible for what happened to Bobby but somehow, with that "Silent majority" fantasy and absurd Hoover-paranoia that was only fractionally uncovered by Watergate, you were there.
@krakenwave dear american brother i mourn over youre ignorance ,the great usa has become a stupid dog that barks when his master the israhelli state kicks him in his ass,in sted of beeing the shining star of the world, just think in whose interests are the wars that america has waged so be smart kick those zionists out of usa and be free
The use of Samuel Barber's "Adagio for Strings" is most appropriate for this video, deatiling those who stood in silent homage to the late Robert F. Kennedy. This piece has been used time and time again as mourning music in America's darkest hours, such as the death of FDR and JFK, and four days after 9/11 (it was performed at London's Royal Albert Hall in tribute to the victims by the BBC Orchestra). This is indeed a very moving video, dedicated to a great champion of freedom and justice.
When I start feeling just a little cynical about what has happened to this country I watch this video and it reminds me that there are still really decent people around. They live their lives as real Americans would -- caring about not one group over another, but seeing themselves as a nation that really believes that the best is ultimately possible. It is always there in front of us, giving us hope and courage. We must never forget that.
This a very well crafted video with excellent choice of music. Thanks for posting. I posted RFK Final Journey and thought that was good. This reminds us of such a sad event but yet within it is true inspiration - if only leaders of our nations woud reach out a take a lead from RFK/JFK
I remember my aunt taking my brother who was 11 and myself 8 yrs old to one of the stations in Philadelphia where the train passed. I can still see a young Ted Kennedy who stood on the back platform of the train smiling as he waived to the crowd. As I looked through through the open door right behind Ted I saw the flag draped caskett that carried Roberts body .
Very beautifully sad video. This is one of the main reasons I love Youtube. There is a book about RFK's funeral train. I will get it one of these days.
respect.

These good people here were the majority.

Which politician nowadays (with the exception of Mandela) would inspire such a turn out and expression of love as Bobby Kennedy? Still sadly missed
